Purvi, just another college girl back in 1991, enjoyed designing her own dresses followed by rapid demand from her college pals and neighborhood. With a freelance tailor, in a spare room with some fresh ideas was just a part time activity till a strange incident changed the direction.

Purvi entered a competition for amateur fashion designers in 1993. Though she won the first prize, her designs were practically copied by the organizers to be mass-produced and very soon to be copied by others too. She could spot her designs on people whom she never knew.

The small episode planted a seed into Purvi’s mind in the form of a realization that what she was creating was not a pastime thing at all. Her design had an inherent potential of creating trends.

The following decade proved her accurate vision.

An unlikely designer, Purvi Doshi has been a self-taught exploration into the depths of ethnicity and aesthetic brilliance of Indian culture and crafts.

Her passion for fashion embodies the rich diversity of colors, motifs and patterns inspired straight from the folk arts of the country in general and of the region she belongs to in particular, Gujarat.

She has managed to carve a niche for her apparels which transgress time and traditions, to bring out the contemporary outlook to the traditional yet timeless art forms.

Purvi is not shy to innovate and experiment with her designs and has in recent times created wonderful blend of Indian with western, creating garments that are not only aesthetically brilliant but also captive the young. Her latest collection bears testament to one such endeavor.

As a chameleon, " Kachindo " in Gujarati, can change shape and colour according to its will, similarly, each garment in this collection has its own character and can be worn in a multitude of ways, inside out, ouside down and side by side, not only changing colour and shape but the whole appearance of the garment, formin a new silhouette.

Crowd or bheed - a large, cohesive gathering of individual or the act of coming together to form a tightly-spaced group.

So is the collection bheed bhad from purvi doshi, it embodies not only the coming together of different fabrics but also colours , differents types of art forms from mashru of gujarat, to lucknawi work of lucknow, to the ikkat work of andhara, to the woven kota of Madhya Pradesh to the Khand of Pune and so on.

A Bloom - bloom Woman is strong, confident, fashionable, independent, lives life on her own terms, care free and one whos is her own boss. The world is at her feet and she is the DARLING. Darling of all, as well as of her own.
