The Student Health Passport is a wellness program for MSW students interested in taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle, advancing their professional development skills and gaining insight and information to enhance their quality of life in school, at their workplace and at home. It is only open to full and part-time graduate students registered in the College of Public Programs, School of Social Work.

Our goal is to motivate, inspire and reward students for taking action on opportunities that maintain and create habits that positively affect your health and ultimately your well being. Students receive wellness points according to their participation in approved activities and events that can be redeemed for great rewards and prizes! There is no cost to participate. You do not earn academic credit for this program.

Go to http://bit.ly/ihi_passport and register. You can pick up your official Student Health Passport anytime from the 8th floor front desk.

Look at our website and decide which of the events listed you want to attend. Many of our sponsors are offer our students special rewards and last minute activities to begin earning points! We update our webpage all the

time so make sure you check it frequently. Only approved activities listed on our webpage can earn points. Every time you participate in an approved activity the Administrator of that event will sign off on the points you earned. You must obtain your points at the time of the event-- we cannot sign for points after the event has taken place.

You can save your points and redeem them for greater rewards or cash them in as you earn them--it is totally up to you! Points expire at the end of the school year so start early and enjoy the benefits of your Student Passports!

Students are required to complete a final research project. Students must apply directly to the Graduate College (www.asu.edu/gradapp) and to the College of Public Programs, School of Social Work.

The Assessment of Integrative Health Modalities Certificate

Partnerships

The certificate affords the student opportunities to look deeper into integrative health. Our courses offer an experiential and didactic atmosphere where cutting edge research is explored, advanced skills are developed and a mindfulness practice is nurtured. Two of the courses needed to complete the Certificate requirements are approved “selectives” and are open to ALL MSW STUDENTS. You do not need to be enrolled in the Certificate to take these courses.

SWG 655 Quality of Life (Selective)

SWG 656 Treating the Whole Person (Selective)

SWG 657 Ancient Healing Traditions

The Integrative Health Initiative (IHI) is also very committed to being embedded in the community. For example, one of our community partnerships is at Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital. At SHC we offer three five-week modules on “Stress Management Tools.” We are making a difference from the food service employees working in the cafeteria to the doctors who are performing in the operating room. The class was filled to capacity in less than 48 hours after opening. We are experiencing similar excitement with Treating the Whole Person (SWG 656) which is being offered in the Spring at the Downtown campus. Within minutes of opening registration for the Spring the class filled to capacity which allowed us to open a second section. Both sections now have a wait list to get in.
