“Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.”

I admit to a certain fascination for the Christianity story. It’s a great piece of literature, and as a philosophy of life, the whole love-one-another business has a lot of appeal. While I appreciate the gospel for its noble ideas, vivid characters, and high dramatic flourishes, none of that is what makes me choose to be a Christian. It’s the tangible aspects of faith that keep me in Christ.

The Bible is the ghost in the machinery of Judeo-Christian religion. We can spend our lives studying these pages—and I highly recommend we all do! But be forewarned: studying the story will never be enough. Sooner or later, every creed-spouting Catholic among us must come to terms with the risen Lord. We have to touch his vital flesh, feel his substantial bones, and know that our God truly lives in the lives of our sisters and brothers. How do you touch the living God, not just in sacramental, but in the lives of others?

A message from Fr. Heuberger / Mensaje del Padre Heuberger

Third Sunday of Easter During the seven weeks of Easter time the Church looks for the Lord’s presence in the usual places, and the not so usual places, and comes to find peace in the Risen Lord. The Risen Lord has to assure the disciples that He is not a ghost. Ghosts cause panic; the Risen Lord brings peace. Prayers Steve Caldwell 82, died on February 27, 2018. May he live in the Lord’s own peace united with all of God’s people. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary be a consolation to the family and loved ones.

Have a Blessed Week. Sheila, Janette & Yadira

First Communion testing will be April 16 and 17. Baptism Certificate are needed as soon as possible if you have not brought in your child's copy. Banners are due in our office by April 23rd. Please be sure that your child's FIRST & LAST NAME are on the banner. You may write their names on the back. Banners will be hung in the church that week. Thank you for bringing in your remaining payments for this year. Please continue using the offering envelopes each week. Registration forms were sent home two weeks ago to ALL students in the program. It is recommended that children attend Religious Education classes from 1st grade through 8th grade and continue the four years of high school. This gives the children a FIRM foundation in their faith. Sacraments are supplemental to the classes and occur while the children are learning what it means to be a Catholic in today's world. Children DO NOT GRADUATE once they have received the sacraments. It is very important that they continue in the Religious Education program. Registration for NEW students will open Monday, April 16th. Please stop by our office behind the school gym, to fill out the forms. We are requesting a $20 per child fee at the time of registration. This will be deducted from the total cost of the tuition. A copy of the child's Baptismal Certificate will also be collected at this time. Get your forms in early to help us plan for next year.
