He is Alive in Juarez!!! There is Hope!!!He is Alive in Juarez!!! There is Hope!!!A Border Report: By Candi Pryor

With November 2010 bringing the highest number of murders for a single month in the

year cartel wars, we have run out of adjectives to describe the terrorism that exists

mong the people of Juarez. They simply go to

eep at night and live out their days in fear.

here is no place to hide, no place is safe.

ecause of the brutality, we continue to assess

he safety for the teams, as well as our staff.

We have had to make many adjustments in

rder to continue to serve the people of Juarez.

Mark and I persist in our ministry in Juarez. We

re compelled to continue pressing in deeper into the needs of the people. We are

tilizing this time without groups to deepen our relationships with the ministries in

uarez as well as new opportunities in the borderland.

We have felt a powerful and unified desire to be sharing the gospel and the hope of

ternity. Mark and I have returned to the open market in the inner city of Juarez to do

ure, street evangelism. We have been rewarded to be a part of more than a dozen

eople trusting in Christ with our initial return visit.

wo police officers appeared behind me, and seeing what we were doing, asked for

salvation tracts. They smiled and said thank

you as they left. A short time later we heard

reports of four police officers who were am-

bushed and murder on the street. Through it

all we know God has Juarez in His hands.

A merchant, Marcos, came from the shop

behind us to hand Mark a childrens

devotional book. It was to give to the

hildren we were sharing with. He is a Christian and is happy to see us there sharing

ith the people. When we finish our hour and a half on the street, we go into Marcos

hoe shop to pray with him and his business. Any time we have shared on the streets of

uarez, we have been overwhelmed and amazed at how the Holy Spirit shows up to be a

art of the afternoon in the Juarez market place.

We are confident in the devotion and presence of the Lord in Mexico. His love for these

eople is evident in His faithfulness. We are only honored to be a part of the work in

    uarez.

n light of the current atmosphere across the border, we are seeing some very

emarkable developments among the Mexican people. Two years ago when the teams

topped coming, the ministries were panicked about how they would survive. Where

ould their resources come from without the American teams? We have shown and

iscipled these pastors and ministries to continue to look

o the Lord. He is the only real provision they need.

s they have grown into that step of faith and seen His

ncredible faithfulness, the people of Mexico have begun

o step up and take care of their own people.
