Most of the tech workers from India are junior engineers but are locked to one company and relatively cheap. I work with lots of them. Some
simple tasks takes these "highly skilled" engineers 2-3 days when it should really be 1/2 a day job.
If you follow the class action lawsuit, against Google, Yahoo, Apple and Ebay there are emails which show tech executive agreeing not to
poach(allow the free market to set wages) top talent.
The unemployment rate of American born engineers is high. Top it off alot of the Indians think Americans are to lazy hence so few in engineering.
If there had been a union for tech workers it could have pushed hard against the massive replacement of American of skilled labour. Ann
Eshoo(House Representative) is a BIG supporter of the H1B1 visas.

worker can, given the huge the American high student debt?
