IF I RAN THE ZOO. . . Kensington campers become zoologists this summer, embarking on zoology

adventures and an epic animal study of creatures around the world! Children love zoos, zoo animals and fascinating animal facts. This favorite topic leads us to a roaring twist in Project Based Learning as our zookeepers

expand their knowledge of animals, their needs and differences. Using what they’ve learned, they will then design and build their very own zoo! Who knows what Kensington favorite animal habitats are in store for us?!

Giraffes love reaching high into the trees and polar bears enjoy plunging into the

arctic waters… let’s build perfect habitats for every animal to enjoy! After careful

planning, we’ll collect, create and construct our “Zooformations!”

Reading The View at the Zoo will help bring our ideas to life! What will you do

when you visit our Kensington Zoo?

“THE WHO’S WHO OF THE ZOO!”

Wearing our zookeeper vests and waving our zoo pennants, we’ll enjoy the book If I Ran the Zoo and pretend that we are running our very own zoo!

What does a zookeeper do? Who takes care of the tiger if it has a

toothache? Who makes dinner for a zebra? Let’s take a peek behind the scenes look at who’s who of the zoo!

Session #2: July 1 - July 26 (no camp on Thursday, 7/4)

“THE CREW IN THE ZOO! ”

Fluffed and feathered, primped and preened, which of these animals have

you seen? Let’s explore the animal crew in the zoo! Who has spots, stripes, humps

or scales and tales and so much more? We’ll take a furry, fin-tastic, fun-filled

adventure through the animal kingdom!

Children are enrolled in Junior Camp by session. Children must be enrolled for a full session and may enroll for one or more sessions. Camp will not be held on Thursday, 7/4, for Independence Day. Session #3 ends on Thursday, 8/15. Kensington School is closed Friday, 8/16.

A non-refundable $50 deposit is due upon enrollment for each session of Junior Camp. Deposits will be applicable toward tuition for that camp’s session. The balance due will be charged to your Tuition Express account or credit/debit card on the first day of each camp session. (Please note: There is a 2.5% fee when using a credit/debit card.) Cash and checks are not accepted at Kensington School. Tuition is non-refundable. Any changes to a child’s schedule must be made 30 days in advance.

Full tuition is due regardless of attendance. Refunds are not made for absences. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis.

Campers must have a complete file to attend camp. If you are new to Kensington School, the following child file requirements must be completed

and reviewed before your child’s first day and can be found at kensingtonschool.com:

Each day your child should bring: waterproof bag for wet clothing, a complete change of clothes, rubber-soled shoes or aqua shoes; open toe sandals or Crocs are not allowed.

Water/Swim Day Info - Campers come to camp in a swimsuit worn under clothes and bring a large towel and change of clothes and shoes. Water Days are on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning 6/12 and 6/13.

All belongings should be clearly labeled.

Please apply sunscreen to your child every day before coming to camp.
