1 IELTS Academic Writing Practice Questions The total time allowed for the IELTS Academic Writing test is 60 minutes. There are two writing tasks and task 2 contributes twice as much as task 1 to the Writing score. You should spend about 20 minutes on task 1 and write at least 150 words. You should spend the remaining 40 minutes of task two and write at least 250 words. A blank answer sheet for each task can be found at the end of this document that you can download or print out along with the task questions. Once you have completed both tasks, model answers can be found at the end of this document after task 2.
