    c) Symbol for apparatus for use in explosive atmospheres. Internationally (including Canada), the symbol "Ex" isused. In the U.S. only, the 2002 NEC requires the symbol "AEx" instead of "Ex". In Europe only, the symbol"EEx" is used.
