IDES at “Hiring Our Heroes” Event – United Center

Director Mays spoke at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “Hiring Our Heroes” Event on Thurs, Nov 5 at the United Center. Nearly 500 people attended the hiring expo, which was geared towards service members, veterans, and military spouses. Veterans were also offered free tickets to a Chicago Bulls Game being held that evening. On behalf of Gov. Rauner, the Director thanked the Chamber and event sponsors AON and BP for hosting the job fair. He also thanked Veterans for their service and noted that IDES, as the state’s premier employment agency, has an accomplished team of Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVERs) and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists (DVOPs) who work tirelessly to help Veterans find meaningful jobs across the state.
