ABOUT IP2Startup
• The IP2Startup program is an industry-created program
• Allows universities to put forward their best and most promising technologies – for selection and scoring by NCET2's Fortune 500
members – for market readiness and potential – for licensing and startup creation
• The highest scoring IP will be featured in an "IP Book”
WHAT IS IT?
• Universities produce an abundance of intellectual property that has value – Many startups license IP to start their companies – Many large companies may license technology to
further their business • BUT some IP may have value, yet no one is
utilizing it for further development • NCET2 has created a program that allows
universities to submit their IP for corporate vetting, feedback & licensing discussion/opportunity
ELIGIBILITY • University IP that is not currently under license or legal
obligation can be submitted – Universities submit 5-10 pieces of intellectual
property for review by corporate partners – The IP must be either a granted patent or a
provisional patent – The online form will guide your through a series of
questions regarding the type of technology, when it was submitted to the USPTO, other countries covered etc

SUBMIT EARLY!
Stats from last 2 Demo Days show that the highest scoring companies come from earlier submissions
• 2/3 submit 1 week before a deadline, 1/3 get selected
• A little bit puzzling, we are not sure why. • Our guess is:
• Corporates have more time to look at the earlier companies
• Good management team manage their time better and don’t rush things doing them last minute
