MasterofInteriorDesign(MID)TherearetwostreamswithintheMasterofInteriorDesignprogramofferedattheUniversityofManitoba:first-professionalandapost-professional.TheFirst-ProfessionalMasterofInteriorDesign(MID)isdirectedtowardsthosewhoholdabachelordegreeindesignandwouldliketofurthertheireducationwithaprofessionalinteriordesigndegree.MIDgraduatesarequalifiedtoworknationallyandinternationallyattheforefrontoftheirprofessionwithaskill-setthatincludesstrategicthinking,entrepreneurship,researchandenvironmentallyresponsibledesign.Uponcompletionofcoursework,studentscompleteacomprehensivedesignprojectcalledaPracticum.TheFirst-ProfessionalMasterofInteriorDesign(MID)programisaccreditedbytheCouncilforInteriorDesignAccreditation(CIDA).GraduatesusuallyproceedtocertificationfromtheNationalCouncilofInteriorDesignQualification(NCIDQ)andmembershipinaprofessionalinteriordesignassociation.Thisprogramrequiresaminimumoftwototwoandhalfcalendaryearsoffull-timestudytocomplete.ThePost-ProfessionalMasterofInteriorDesign(MID)isdirectedtostudentswhoholdanaccredited,first-professionaldegreeinInteriorDesignfromarecognizedinstitution.Theprogramhasaresearchorientationandisintendedtofurtherknowledgeinspecificareasofthediscipline.Inadditiontorequiredcourses,studentsarerequiredtocompleteaformalthesisonachosentopic.ThePost-Professionalprogramrequiresaminimumofoneandahalfyearsoffull-timestudytocomplete.ToreadanoverviewonMIDPracticumandThesisprojects,visitourwebsiteathttp://umanitoba.ca/faculties/architecture/programs/intdesign/632.htmlToseeexamplesofMIDPracticumandThesisprojects,visitourwebsiteathttp://umanitoba.ca/faculties/architecture/programs/intdesign/mid_practicum_and_thesis_projects.html
