OBJECTIVES ICT4SMARTDG The general objective of this Th ematic Network (TN) is

to foster and promote the development of ICT solutions

which could promote large-scale integration of domestic and distributed micro-generation and therefore improve energy efficiency through the implementation of smart technology into local power grids.

The TN will bring together key relevant players in the telecommunications and energy sector. Th ey will overview and provide insight of existing and new innovative ICT technologies available for smart distributed generation at domestic level, forecast steps forward that can promote large-scale implementation, identify best technical solutions available, non-technical barriers, as well as promote all TN results and conclusions as key elements to boost deployment.

Bridge knowledge gaps by interacting with key ICT, Power Generation, Distribution System

Identify inhibitors to large scale implementation and make targeted recommendations to overcome

With the previous analysis we will make a general and strategic

proposal with short, medium andlong term perspective for their

implementation. It could be a classification of the ICT

solutions underthis term perspective. But also

technical barriers or shortcomings identified and

possible action linesto solve or minimise them. One

workshop will be organised,

Analysis of solutions by different criteria. Identifying benefits and viability of each

solution by differentstakeholders and sector.

In this task we will need to establish the criteria for the analysis and comparison of the

different ICTsolutions. These criteria may be principally

technical: telecom aspects, generation aspects and

environmental aspects.Once the criteria are established we will develop

between 2 and 3 workshops with the stakeholders

to explore the problems and benefits of each ICT solution.

– Generators send data to its CCG each 4 seconds

– Additionally, there is a constant bidirectional communication each 30 seconds

– CCG must be connected with CECRE through dedicated lines, redundant, and with a bandwidth that guarantees the correct interchange of information (typical minimum value 256 kbps).

– It will have a SCADA system in case of failure.

– The communication protocol for information interchange in real time between both systems will be ICCP (Inter-Control Centre Communications Protocol), and more specifically IEC-60870-6-503. TASE 2.
