Christ PantocratorEgg tempera, gold leaf on wooden panel

The iconic image of Christ Pantocrator was one of the first images of Christ developed in the Early Christian Church and remains a central icon of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The holy aura is embossed with gold symbols. Holy symbol of blessing is the mating by unifying the ring finger with the thumb one, resulting in three crosses or the sacred symbol of Holly Trinity. The book on the left hand is the symbol of learning, and wisdom. The figure of the

Savior is calm, open, easy frown, conveying the feeling of serenity, resonating with its green and red clothes, a symbol of passion and peace.

This icon depicts various different scenes to celebrate the glory of the Virgin Theotokos, who is pictured in the center of the composition, glorious, enthroned by seraphim and holding Christ in her hands. The colors used are intense, vivid and full of shine while scenes from the life of the Virgin are depicted in chronological order.
