44

The 12 meridians • Based on Traditional Chinese Theory, energy has to be balanced and flow evenly

inside each meridian. Blockages and uneven flow of the energy may result in

malfunction of the associate organ and tissue, and in turn cause low healing ability.

Therefore, maintaining meridian balance is the major goal of traditional Chinese

medicine.

• Chinese use the term "jing luo" which means, channels, conduit, meridian etc.

According to acupuncture, these are the invisible channels through which Qi

circulates throughout the body. The acupuncture points (or holes as the Chinese

term xue is more aptly translated means) are the locations where the Qi of the

channels rises close to the surface of the body.

• There are 12 main meridians, six of which are yin and six are yang and numerous

minor ones, which form a network of energy channels throughout the body. The

twelve major meridians correspond to specific human organs: kidneys, liver, spleen,

heart, lungs, pericardium, bladder, gall bladder, stomach, small and large intestines,

and the triple burner (body temperature regulator).

Page 45: iCheck_User_Manual

45

The 12 meridians • Imbalance in your acupuncture meridian system can disrupt your organs,

muscles, circulation, and a host of other problems. Identifying meridian

system imbalances is often critical to restoring your body’s ability to function.

• It should be noted; the organs mentioned here have a much broader

meaning in TCM then what is typically thought of their functions in western

medicine. Since the twelve meridians make up the majority of the Meridian

System, they are known as the regular or principal channels.

Report Analysis

Page 71: iCheck_User_Manual

71

Deficiency Pattern • Deficiency means shortage, with symptoms of low functioning and

decline, excess/hyperactivity means too much, with symptoms of congestion and blockage.

• With an energy deficiency, there is a functional decline of the internal organs and a low resistance of the organism against the attack of diseases. It can be seen in chronic diseases, aging, or during the recuperating stage of acute diseases.

• The general symptoms of energy deficiency include white or pale complexion, fatigue, weakness, poor spirits, shortness of breath, too tired to talk, low and feeble voice, excessive perspiration, tongue in light colour and weak pulse.

• In order to treat it, it is necessary to tone up the energy.

Page 72: iCheck_User_Manual

72

Excessive/Hyperactivity Pattern • An excess of energy manifests itself in energy sluggishness

or stagnation.

• Energy should travel throughout the body without difficulty. However, various factors, including emotional stress, irregular eating, attack of external energies and external injuries, can impact energy circulation negatively and cause energy sluggishness in the chest.

• It is therefore necessary to promote the flow of energy and break up energy congestion.

• Symptoms of excessive pattern: Clinical symptoms due to the exterior pathogenic factors (mainly refer to the tendency of pressure-oriented disorder), such as inflammation, hypertension, mental pressure, etc.

Page 73: iCheck_User_Manual

73

Disorder Pattern

• Symptoms of disorders: In the same

meridian, one side shows symptoms of

excessive pattern, the other side shows

symptoms of deficient pattern. Usually it

indicates the stagnation of Qi and blood.

Prevent cardiovascular disease and

hyperosteogeny.

Step 1 : Look at Physical Conditions – It tells

testee current physical condition status

Note:. if the examination

takes in the testee’s

medication and alcohol

period, the numerical

analysis will be deviated.

Be cautious to make any

certain analysis.

Page 78: iCheck_User_Manual

78

Step 1 : Click on Physical Condition

• Physical Condition :means the whole health state of one person ,

Normal Value for young and middle-aged people is :26-56 , If lower

than 26 ,means testee is in weak state ,or fatigue recently ,or caused

by chronic disease . If higher than 56 ,means the testee is under

dryness-fire state or body very hyper state

Page 79: iCheck_User_Manual

79

Definition

• Deficiency Syndrome means syndromes of lower immunity ,which might be

caused by congenitally deficient , improper care after birth and other reason,

should prevent chronic bronchitis , gastritis ,aging , anaemia, etc.

• Hypo-activity Syndrome is similar as Deficiency Syndrome ,but not serious as

Deficiency Syndrome .

• Excessive Syndrome: Clinical symptoms due to interior and exterior pathogenic

factors (mainly refer to the tendency of pressure-oriented disorder), such as

inflammation, hypertension, mental pressure, etc

• Hyperactivity Syndrome is similar with Excessive Syndrome ,But not serious as

excessive Syndrome .

Page 80: iCheck_User_Manual

80

Step 2 : Click on Yin/Yang– It will shows testee the range that

should be in to be in state of metabolic balance state of viscous

Page 81: iCheck_User_Manual

81

Step 2 : Yin/Yang • By clicking on the Yin/Yang, there will be a text box showing the analysis of

Yin/Yang.

• Yin/Yang value : normal value is 0.8 -1.2, and perfect value is 1: 1=1, which means the yin and yang energy is balance, showing balance and good state of zang fu organs metabolism

• The Ying here refer to 6 zang meridian energy value, and yang refer to 6 fu energy value, when both value is close which means body 5 zang creating energy substance (qi, blood, essence(jin), fluid etc) that will be able transport to every part of the body by 6 fu and able to flush any toxin and waste from the body system smoothly.

Page 82: iCheck_User_Manual

82

Step 2 : Yin/Yang • If Yin value is bigger than Yang which means body creating substance more

than making use and flushing the waste, therefore the body will develop toxic

waste; if is slightly affected, will affect your complexion, when over a long

period of time will eventually create possibility of affecting the cells.

Page 83: iCheck_User_Manual

83

Step 2 : Yin/Yang • If Yin value is smaller than Yang which means body making use and flushing

the waste is faster and 5 zang will not be able to create enough energy

substance for the body, therefore most of the body system tend to be lethargic

and weak.

Page 84: iCheck_User_Manual

84

Step 3 : Click on Upper/Down– It will shows testee the range that should

be in for mental activity or upper and lower balance state

Page 85: iCheck_User_Manual

85

Step 3 : Click on Upper/Down • By clicking on the Upper/Down, there will be a text box showing the mental activity and upper

and lower part of body balance.

• Upper/Down : average value is 0.8-1.2, the best value is 1 : 1=1 which means upper refers to upper part of the body: (heart, brain and lung) and down refers to lower part of the body : (Liver, Gallbladder, Spleen, Stomach, Kidney, Bladder etc organ energy whether is balanced, showing good mental condition and energy balance state of upper and lower part of body.

• Unbalanced refers to some of the people might be easily have upper body syndrome sickness such as heart disease, asthma, depression, etc

• Or lower body syndrome sickness such as stomach digestive problem, kidney failure, etc.

Page 86: iCheck_User_Manual

86

Step 4 : Click on Left/Right– It will shows testee the range that should be

in for right and left qi and blood whether is flowing smoothly

Page 87: iCheck_User_Manual

87

Step 5: Click on Autonomic Nerve– It will shows testee the range

that should be in for emotional state or capacity

Page 88: iCheck_User_Manual

88

Autonomic Nerve • Because modern medicine cannot effectively use the kind of physical measurement

method to understand diversified discomfort symptoms due to autonomic nerve

disorder, people often ignore its importance or mistake its abnormality due to other

factors.

• Body autonomic nerve function lies in regulating the work of smooth muscle,

cardiac muscles, endocrine gland, blood vessel shrinkage, peristalsis of stomach

and intestine, and so on, and has close relationship with working function of zang

fu, so obstacles of autonomic nerve system function are very possible lead to broad

abnormality of body function.

• There are many factors that can produce disorder of autonomic nerve.

Commonly they are divided into internal factor (such as diseases of zang

fu, internal secretion disorder) and exterior factor ( such as motional

pressure, working pressure, tiredness and so on).

Page 89: iCheck_User_Manual

89

Step 6 : Time Chart • User can do another meridian test for the same testee by clicking on the same user

profile and click “Meridian Test” again.

• After done the 24 steps meridian tests, 2 reports will be appeared as shown below.

• Double click the recent report, to show the comparison chart. The meridian chart for the recent report will show first.

condition. If the both dotted red line falls below the rainbow color means that the body shows sign of deficiency. If the both dotted red line is above the rainbow color means that the body shows sign of hyperactivity or excessive syndrome.

• The black line in the middle denotes the average physical ability, and within the red lines is basically normal.

• The bold line connected two points symbolizes one Zangfu, beyond the above red line is the expression of symptoms of excessive pattern

• Beyond the below red line is symptoms of deficient pattern.

• The normal range is between the two blue lines, commonly known as Healthy Corridor.

Page 96: iCheck_User_Manual

96

Step 7 : Yin Yang Chart.

• This chart manifests six pairs of Fu (Yang) and Zang (Yin) organ meridians : (Gallbladder/Liver), (Small

Intestine/Heart), (Triple Energizer/Pericardial), (Stomach/Spleen & Pancreas), (Large Intestine/Lung), (Bladder/Kidney)

• The blue line denotes Yin while the red line denotes Yang.

• By comparison, it can show whether the Yin Yang of the pair of Zangfu is in the balanced and harmony state.

• The 0 line in the middle is standard and between 10 and minus 10 is normal. Three or more intersection indicates a poor spirit and vulnerable fatigue.

Page 97: iCheck_User_Manual

97

Step 8: Click on Qi Blood, will show you the Qi

Blood pairing of the energy organs.

Page 98: iCheck_User_Manual

98

Step 8: Qi Blood Chart

• Qi is the vital energy that gives us our capacity to move, think, and feel. It protects from illness, and warms the

body. Qi is derived from two main sources: the air we breathe, and the food we eat.

• When the supply of Qi to the body is depleted or blocked, organ function is adversely affected by the inability to transform and transport the "energy" necessary to fight illness and disease.

• Right and Left Qi and blood can flow smoothly in the internal organs.

• Zang fu metabolism status and Qi blood flowing status : Balance between Qi (or Chi)and blood of Yin zang and Yang fu shows good metabolic state of body function.

• The 0 line in the middle is standard and between 10 and minus 10 is normal. Three or more intersection indicates a poor spirit and vulnerable fatigue.

Page 99: iCheck_User_Manual

99

Step 8 : Qi Blood Chart.

Metabolic Function is Increased.

• 1. Energy of Qi (or Chi)and blood in Yang fu is bigger than that of Yin zang.

• 2. Probably outside evil influence breaking into body leads to inflammation.

• 3. Function of sympathetic nerve, sub sympathetic nerve and adrenal gland is excited.

• 4. Excited state caused by hormone disorder. (for example, thyroid gland)

• 5. Medicine that increases metabolic function.

Page 100: iCheck_User_Manual

100

Step 8 : Qi Blood Chart.

Metabolic Function is decreased.

• 1. Energy of Qi (or Chi)and blood in Yin zang is bigger than that of Yang fu.

• 2. Function of sympathetic nerve and sub sympathetic nerve is decreased.

• 3. Compensatory phenomenon after body energy consumes during acute or chronic disease course.

• 4. Phenomenon of toxics or resisted metabolic function.

• 5. Compensatory phenomenon after strenuous sport/activities or tiredness under serious stress.

medicine, and the pulse analysis of Mr. ZHANG-Taisu, the TCM expert of pulse diagnosis.

• By testing the present excessive or deficient symptoms and the health condition, it can show the ability of external expression and creativity.

• The higher the energy rate and total rate, the better, indicating an increasingly better external expression and creativity.

• The good range of energy status would be from 70 and above and the normal range of energy status would be from 50 to 70. Belo 50 means that the energy level tend to be low, tired and feeling stressed.
