About our Programmes

The Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences is an independent third level college that prides itself on its student centred approach. ICHAS provides an academic environment that fosters personalised learning, enabling participants to develop their potential for life and for exciting careers in their chosen areas of practice. All ICHAS programmes are accredited and awarded by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and are on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Our programmes combine theoretical knowledge with practical application and address areas that employers, professional organisations and statutory agencies require. Most of all, our programmes have been completely reviewed and updated in 2015 to ensure they meet the exacting award standards of QQI.

Most importantly programmes have been specifically designed to meet the needs of modern students, accommodating those who wish to study either part time or full time. ICHAS programmes utilise blended learning, which combines traditional face-to-face lecturing with online learning. This facilitates a greater work/life/study balance and allows students to work at a pace that suits them. For some modules which are skills based, classroom based attendance is required and for other modules which are theory based, the student can avail of the option of attending virtually, minimising the need for travel and allowing students to study from the comfort of their own home.

Access to our Programmes: Applications for all programmes are processed either through the CAO system as below or for direct entry applicants, through the submission of a completed application form. Please see our website at www.ichas.ie for application forms and information

CAO: This access route applies only to applicants under the age of 23 (on January 1st of the year of entry) who wish to apply to the first year of any of the QQI validated full-time undergraduate programmes. The closing date for CAO applications for EU citizens is February 1st, while late applications will be accepted until May 1st. Subsequent to that, applicants may complete a ‘Change of Mind’ Form which will be accepted up until July 1st.
