Yacht Controller S.r.l. is a dynamic and modern company, its mission is introducing in the nautical environment innovative and
reliable technologies to make safer and easier the life of yachting, directly supplies the shipyards and, through a capillary and
professional sales network all over the world, the final user. Our products, all certified CE and FCC by the more qualified inter-
national institution, are wireless remote controls, supervision system, LCD screens with integrated nautical PC and nautical PC.
The most important product of the Yacht Controller S.r.l. is the wireless control for electronic control heads that allows you to rule
your boat by yourself also in the most difficult situations and in an easy and safe way. In fact with the wireless control Yacht Con-
troller you will be able to manage the forward, backward and sideways movement from any part of the boat, using the tumbler
switches to control forward and reverse both engines and the thrusters if fitted. Yacht Controller is very compact, like a mobile
phone, and can be fitted on your wrist or worn round the neck so that hands are free to throw ropes and assist the moorings. Yacht
Controller is safe and is range is limited to the area around the boat and has a unique code to prevent interference from other
equipment and similar transmitters on other boats.
The importer in the USA is the Yacht Controller LLC, situated in Coral Gables, Florida. We are really growing in the USA, mak-
ing more that 30 dealers at now all over the United States. We are present at the Miami and Fort Lauderdale boat Show, and we
recently made a partnership with Glendinning Marine Products to develop a specific YC for the GMP products and for an actuator
that permits to install the YC also on the boats with wiring command and not only for the electronic command.

I believe that having a direct channel of communication for the Italian boating industry is a natural consequence of the way our entrepreneurs
work in this market that is so important for boating worldwide, and so important for us. For this reason, as a trade
association we were enthusiastic about getting involved in the initiative.

A skilled staff of technicians along with adequate structures has allowed the company to manufacture the highest quality
marine products and to respond quickly to the needs of the customers and changing market demands. Chiavari creates
first class products, able to be summed up in quality, style, and safeness, and at the same time able to meet the demands of
the most important shipyards both at home and abroad. Chiavari counts shipyards among it’s many important customers.
Sanguineti’s most pertinent items are different lines of capstans we manufacture, among which are:
600-1000-2000W retractile model, electrically or hydraulically operated, made of anodized light alloy, especially fit-
ted on luxury yachts because they conjugate style and functionality, thus avoiding unaesthetic obstructions on the deck.
1000-2000-3000-4000W fixed model , electrically operated made of light alloy or mirror polished stainless steel AISI 316.
Selmar Technologies has been working for over twenty years in the water treat-
ment field, focusing its efforts on the design and production of reverse osmosis
desalinators for marine, nautical, civil and industrial use.
Besides r.O. Watermakers and its accessories, today the SELMAr brand in-
cludes also waste water treatment systems and water/oil separators specifically
designed for nautical application.
Technologically advanced, SELMAr watermakers can be constructed in modu-
lar form, usable wherever there’s a lack of space, or in compact form, assembled
in a solid structure of stainless steel.
The quality management system of SELMAr, certified by det norske Veritas
in conformity with the international standards ISO 9001:2000, is the frame of
technological innovation and has reached the best satisfaction of its customers
worldwide.

“Money can’t buy you happiness, but it can buy you a yacht big enough to pull up
right alongside it.” Like the American ‘80s rockstar david Lee roth, we, too, at
the Italian Trade Commission ICE - Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero
are aware that yachting is a luxury.
After all, we should know. Italian Class and Excellence are three words which begin with the same initials as
our Institute and have always marked the distinguishing features of our exports.
The pleasure boating industry has constantly been a “flagship” of Italian design. Ever since the 13th century,
when the Italian maritime powers were present all over the world - Genoa and Venice are the first that spring to
mind - the style and standards of Italian boats and yachts have constantly ruled over the calm, blue waters of the
Mediterranean and beyond.
Ucina
The USA accounts for about 13% of all exports of Italian pleasure boats, and is one of the major markets for those
who manufacture boating accessories.
The newsletter we are presenting here was set up in collaboration with ICE and bears testimony to the extensive
experience we have gained together in promoting Italian industry abroad. This first edition is intended to present
Italian boating accessories that combine technology and design, providing solutions that are always at the cutting
edge in this sector.
We are sure that this clear illustration of the latest products from Italy will be of interest to American operators
and will contribute towards affirming the “Made in Italy” brand around the world. In the hope that this contact is
destined to continue for a long time, we look forward to the next issue in October!

Italy has always been a trendsetter when it comes to beauty and design, and companies have been quick to take up the challenge of combin-
ing these home-grown traits with cutting-edge technology. The result has been a breathtaking array of boats, yachts and accessories to suit
everyone’s needs and to give yachtsmen the opportunity to customize their craft according to their tastes. Indeed, adding an Italian-made ac-
cessory to a boat is like taking a small part of Italy with you.
I am very pleased, therefore, to present this first issue of the Italian boating industry’s newsletter, “Italian Style”. ICE joins forces with the
Italian Marine Industry Association - UCInA, to give our American friends a special insight into the tradition of excellence in Italian nautical
craftsmanship. Though the qualities of Italian boats are widely known and can be appreciated the world over, a look at this showcase will no
doubt encourage our readers to become proud owners of the products - yachts, accessories, equipment and services - that the Italian pleasure
boating industry places at their disposal.
When the idea was raised of starting a newsletter in order to valorize our boating industry’s activities in the United States, I wondered why
this had not been done previously.

CantalupiCantalupi opens new US operations
Cantalupi, the Italian manufacturer of marine lighting fixtures, with over 30 years of marine market presence,
has recently open its US subsidiary to better support its continuous growth in the north American market.
Cantalupi USA Inc., based in Clearwater, FL was established to support its north American customers with a
direct interface with the manufacturer. Among the benefits are custom products, swifter logistics through the US

Bamar “rMEJ” Universal Electrical Motorization for Manual Furlers
Bamar (trademark owned by A.r.TE. srl) presents a line of univer-
sal electric motorizations to replace the drum on all existing manual
furlers. We are talking about four rMEJ models, made up by a body
produced in aluminium protected by a deep-penetration black anod-
izer (hard cote), and a stainless steel cover insulated with nylon. The
aluminium is extruded and machined with CnC machines, in order
to get the best mechanical resistance of materials.
The great advantage that this motorization offers to its users, is that it
may be fitted by means of an “adapter” (tack adapter) on all models
of manual foresail furler available on the market.
This unit has been designed and manufactured to make fitting easy,
with the help of simple tools. All you need to do is just take off the
manual drum and replace it with the “rMEJ” motorization. By keep-
ing the original foils and halyard swivel you save money, as you do
not need labour to take them off.
Moreover the motorization is hollow inside, thus allowing the use of
the existing stay and the housing of a turnbuckle.
You do not need to take off the stay from the boat, as you may install
the furler on armed mast, by disconnecting the stay from the chain
plate (in some cases you will need the installation of extra acces-
sories for the modification of the stay, dimensioned and supplied by
A.r.TE. - Bamar).
You furl it from the cockpit; just push the button placed on the con-
sole. In the event of a total failure of the boat’s electrical system, the
unit can be manually operated, by inserting a standard winch handle
in the manual emergency clutch.
As an important complement to the “rMEJ” motorization, it has
equipped also “Boxtron”, which is an essential accessory for the
electric plant. It is an electronic box that controls the electric supply
protecting the plant from possible overloads caused by wrong use
while sailing.
new Mase 7,1 kW: more power, less weight and minimum dimensions.
Italian company Mase Generators has developed a new product that
reaches 7.1 kW power in a very small and very light package size. The
engine, made up of aluminium, also uses a new generation alternator,
which is state of the art. A computer processor optimizes all the func-
tions and it checks many parameters before and during the activity.
Like every Mase generator, the model IS 7.1 has a special double chas-
sis which stops every vibration so that nothing is transmitted to the
boat. A completely closed case reduces the noise to low sound level.
Mase
The generator unit does not exchange heat in the area where is installed
because it is cooled only by water. The control panel is easy to use, waterproof and dustproof, to reach the highest reliability of the product.

Quick
www.quick.it
Quick srl has established itself as a leading international nautical supplier with products such as windlasses, capstans, battery chargers, marine water heaters,
and remote control units. An Italian company based in ravenna, Quick occupies a 75,000 ft2 factory which is currently undergoing expansion. By the end
of 2007 a further 54,000 ft2 will have been added to the factory to accommodate new operations.
Quick was created by Michele Marzucco and Alfonso Peduto when they bought out a small nautical equipment firm in 1992.
At the time, this firm designed and built a small range of accessories for windlass mechanisms. 15 years later, Quick employs a workforce of 130 and its
name is known all over the world.
A flair for innovation is the characteristic that has always distinguished Quick s.r.l., and with continued innovation in mind the company opened a research
and development facility equipped with prototyping machinery and testbenching its new products to monitor their performance.
This facility also houses a metal and mechanical firm, C.a.t.t., which has been producing molds and machine parts for industry for the last 25 years.
C.a.t.t. srl makes most of the bronze and aluminium components used in Quick’s products, as well as all the molds for the company’s plastic products. Quick
bought C.a.t.t. to gain direct control over quality and production times.
Quick’s sales network now reaches over 50 countries all over the world via some leading distributors, and supplies major cruise manufacturers such as
Azimut, Ferretti, Searay, Beneteau and Bavaria.
In 2006 Quick opened an office in the USA following successful negotiations with a number of US boatbuilders. It was the need to offer on-hand logistical
support and assistance in the USA that persuaded the company’s directors to open Quick USA LLC.
Quick USA LLC is located in Glen Burnie near Baltimore. The facility includes a 11.000 ft2 warehouse area, offices and conference room. Quick represen-
tatives operate all over US territory and the distribution network is organized to facilitate supplies to the other countries on the continent.
Ultraflex Group has 71 years of experience in manufacturing and distrib-
uting of the highest quality and most innovative products.
The Ultraflex Group affiliated companies design and produce widely known
equipment in the marine, industrial, architectural, LEd technology, and al-
ternative energy fields.
Its windlass range is one of the company’s leading products, not just in terms of size – with a huge selection of models available – but also in terms of
its unbeatable performance. Quick pays particular attention to the quality of raw materials and to technical details which ensure the windlasses work
perfectly. The patented Genius Free-Fall on-deck windlass, for example, incorporates an automatic chain release system for dropping anchor at the
mere touch of a button. It’s also equipped with an epicycloidal reducer, as found in the Crystal vertical windlass. This type of gearbox enables more
efficient use of motor power, absorbing 40% less power than other windlasses.
Quick recently began producing bow thrusters for crafts of length between 26 ft and 98 ft. It also bought Sigmar Marine, a company which has pro-
duced marine boilers for the last 40 years, in a bid to establish itself as a world leader in the production of inox 316 boilers.
Since its creation in 1992, Quick has grown into a large company committed to the development of its own resources, the adoption of new technology,
and hard work. It is also a company that has gained the confidence and trust of its business partners and employees.
Among these companies, Uflex USA, established in 1989, is a leader in
steering and control systems for the marine industry. With full manufac-
turing capabilities in Sarasota, Florida, Uflex USA can support all sectors
of the marine industry regardless of the volume and/or product require-
ments. And, as an affiliate of the Ultraflex Group, Uflex USA has tremen-
dous resources to draw upon for new product development in hydraulics,
electronics, and many other technologies.
Innovative product design and unparalleled dedication to quality custom-
er service and products continue to be the cornerstone of Uflex USA’s
growth. Today our products can be found as originally installed equip-
ment on many of the most widely known and respected boat brands in
the world. Aftermarket parts can be sourced from trained and experienced
distributors networked throughout north and South America.
Our dedication to providing the highest quality products and service is only
matched by our commitment to developing new products employing the lat-
est materials and technology to enhance our customer’s boating experience.
From steering wheels to sophisticated electronic controls, Uflex USA has
everything you need to make sure that your boat looks and performs at it’s
best for many, many years.
