ICE the short film Synopsis Brooklyn, New York – Ronnie, an enigmatic enforcer for a local crime boss, is tossed out by his girlfriend. With no place to go Ronnie heads to Sunny’s Bar. As usual in these situations, Sunny lets Ronnie sack out in the backroom. Later that night Sunny tells his wife of his mixed feelings about Ronnie and she sums up Ronnie’s life as …“Finding hope in futility”. It's a phrase; we come to learn, which reflects all aspects of Ronnie's life. You see, Ronnie speaks with his hands in more ways than one. While he’s adept at providing muscle – something we later witness when he’s directed to collect money from a delinquent borrower - Ronnie also sculpts in ice. And, it's revealed that the medium’s impermanence is truly the message; as Ronnie explores the existential question at the root of his ambivalent outlook … What is the point of life’s transitory nature? Will Ronnie find any sort of answer? Dedication A sad note: Veteran actor Jerry Grayson (Sunny) passed away suddenly March 8, 2013. The Producers would like to dedicate the Film Screenings at TribeCa in his honor.
