1. What is an ICDL?
Internationally recognised IT skills certificate Verifies staff understand how to use
a personal computer and computer software applications
Based upon a standard worldwide syllabus Developed and maintained by the ECDL
Foundation (European Computer Driving Licence) (http://www.ecdl.com)
Issued in Australia by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) (http://www.acs.org.au/icdl/)

Modules
1. Basic concepts of IT2. Using the computer and managing files3. Word processing4. Spreadsheets5. Databases6. Presentations7. Information & communication
(internet & email)
All seven modules must be successfully completed (in any order) before an ICDL is issued

Certificate Equivalences
Some TAFEs deliver it in conjunction with Cert I Information Technology
Should be able to get RPL to go into a Cert II Information Technology
Some overlaps with a few of the competencies in Cert II and Cert III Business
