ICCC 2016 Satellite Symposium:MC2R 2016: Metal Alkynyl Complexes for Molecular Electronics or Molecular OpticsBrest, July 6 & 8, 2016

This meeting is the fourth one of a series of meetings initiated in 2003 in Canberra and focused on various advances on the synthesis and physicochemical properties of metal-alkynyl complexes in various fields (Molecular Wires, Magnets and Electronics, Linear and Nonlinear Optics, Electrochromism, Functional Interfaces and Devices) in order to identify and foster future realizations in this growing field. This symposium should provide some useful background information of what has been made in this field these last decades and also provide a prospective vision of challenges / applications remaining to be met in the field of metal-alkynyl complexes. This symposium will be composed in part of plenary interventions aiming at taking stock of the achievements in the areas of interest mentioned above and will be accompanied by two oral communications selected among the posters presented at the ICCC 2016 sessions (see below for details). As this meeting is partly supported by the Rennes-Durham and France-Australia CNRS networks, it will give a share to the contributions of alkynyl chemists belonging to these networks. This meeting will also be the occasion of celebrating the retirement of Prof. Claude Lapinte, who has been an important French contributor in this field.

MC2R 2016 Venue and Organization: The poster sessions are common with those of ICCC, a special listing of the posters competing for the oral communication will be given to the MC2R participants.

A first session of the MC2R meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th of July, from 18h00 to 19h30, in a building next to the Quartz (Faculté des Lettres, exact location will be specified to the MC2R participants by e-mail).

This first session will be followed by the MC2R banquet (from 20.00 to 22.00, held downtown Brest) open to the MC2R participants upon registration .

A second session of the MC2R meeting will be held on Friday 8th of July, from 8.00 to 11.15, in the Quartz, concurrently with the others ICCCC 2016 morning sessions.

MC2R 2016 Poster Competition:Any poster presented at ICCC 2016 and dealing with metal alkynyl complexes can be presented at the MC2R satellite meeting in order to compete for the Oral Communications at MC2R 2016, provided its author has not been already given an oral communication at ICCC 2016. To do so, the authors need just to mention their want to have their poster considered for this competition when registering at MC2R 2016 and should send an abstract of their poster to the organizers along with their registration form. After selection by the organizers, the two winners will be informed by email early June 2016.

MC2R 2016 Registration: Attendance to the MC2R Satellite meeting is free and open to all MC2R participants. Registration is suggested for all participants and required for participation to the best poster competition (see below) or for participation to the banquet upon payment of the the cost mentioned on the registration form. Registration can be made by simply returning the joint form to the organizers:
