    5.4 Check the ESS-A

    Procedure

Step 1 Flip all the power switch on the ESMU to ON.

Step 2 If the ESS-A are powered on for the first time, initialization starts automatically to balance the voltage differences between ESU strings

Step 3 Wait 15 minutes until the initialization is complete and check that:

Typically, the initialization is complete within 15 minutes

If the voltage difference between ESU strings is great, the initialization may take 3.5 hours

Stay at the site before the initialization is complete

    1. The ECC500 operating information displays that the battery status changes from Firston to Boost Charge, Discharge or Float Charge.

    2. The RUN indicators on all ESMUs blink at short intervals (If an indicator blinks slowly, it is on for 1s and then off for 1s. If an indicator blinks fast, it is on for 0.125s and then

off for 0.125s.), and the CHG or DCHG indicators are steady on

    3. The ECC500 displays that the ESS voltage ranges from 50 V DC to 57 V DC

    5.6 Powering On Loads

    Procedure

Step 1 Switch on all load circuit breakers one by one.

Step 2 During the process, measure the busbar voltage using a clamp meter after switching on each circuit breaker. Then continue to switch on another circuit breaker after ensuring that the

busbar voltage ranges from 44.5 V DC to 57.6 V DC.

    5.7 Checking After Power-On

    Procedure

Step 1 Switch on the load circuit breakers as required.

Step 2 Check the DCDU battery switch to NORMAL.

Step 3 Verify that the values on the ECC500 LCD screen are the same as the actual configurations and no alarm indicator on any component is on. If an alarm is generated or an Alarm indicator

is on, please contact the professional engineers of HUAWEI.

Step 4 If no exception occurs after the PowerCube 1000 runs for about 1 hour, the commissioning is complete.

Step 5 Reinstall all panels and check that the cabinet paint is intact and repaint the areas devoid of paint.

Step 6 Seal cable holes by using fireproof mud and clean up unnecessary things.

Step 7 Close and lock the cabinet door, and hand the keys over to the person in charge.

A Appendix A.1 Installing Floating Nuts

This section describes the positions and procedures for installing floating nuts for different

    heights of components.

    Prerequisites

A flat-head screwdriver and a pair of protective gloves have been prepared.

    Procedure

Step 1 Determine the mounting holes for floating nuts based on the component height.

Figure A-1 shows the positions for installing floating nuts for a 1 U component.
