Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express.

You can find video training in the Help Section inside the ICC Express program.

Enjoy the journey that we’ll take together as we continually improve ICC Express.

1. Setup & Configuration

License

The first time you run ICC Express, it’s going to run in trial mode. This means you’ll be able to use it for 14 days without entering a license key.

However, certain functions will be disabled such as Facebook fan page access and you’ll also only have the single version functionality.

Please check your inbox for a mail entitled ‘Your ICC Express Purchase.’ That will have your license key and download link in it.

Enter your PayPal purchase email and your registration key that you were issued in the boxes displayed.

Read the agreement, click the check box and then click validate. You will receive a message that the program has been successfully registered and your version will be displayed. Contact support if this fails.

Tip: How to Remove a Key from your computer.

This applies especially if you have a Single License and change computers.

If you ever want to remove your key and put on another computer, you could manage the key by clicking on the Manage Key link.

Put your purchase email in the box and click REMOVE THIS KEY which remove it from your local

installation and also decrement your license on the server so you can install ICC Express on another computer. That’s especially helpful if you have a single license so you can move it around to other machines.

Profiles

Once you’ve input your license and properly registered your software, the next thing you do is enter your profiles.

Page 5: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

You notice there’s several different sections in the Settings page including:

1. WordPress sites 2. Facebook 3. Twitter 4. Talkwalker

Keywords Google Logins Bit.ly.

1. Wordpress Sites

To start using your WordPress sites, enter a friendly name for the blog and the Default Keyword. After you enter the keyword and tab out, it appears in the Keywords List on the right.

This is really important because as you accumulate your keywords, they are associated with the profiles and then you can make use of them.

After I have the friendly name for the profile and the Default Keyword, enter the blog address. That’s the root to the blog eg www.nameofyourwebsite.com or htttp://nameofyourwebsite.com

Do not put in /wp-admin in the url of the blog address.

Just put in the blog address, your login and password and then test to make sure that you login successfully.

If you do, you’ll see a screen saying you have logged in successfully.

If you don’t have the right credentials, the screen will tell you the credentials of the blog are incorrect. Check your login name and password are correct and try again until you successfully log in.

Save that Profile and it will now show up on the Profiles List.

You can add as many profiles as you want; depending on your license.

Click the Clear button to add your next Profile Name into the Profiles List. With the developer license, you can add up to one hundred profiles. When you click on a profile in the Profiles List, it will show you the details for that profile under the Profile Name section.

Tip – For Social Users only

If you don’t have a WordPress site and just want to use the program with Facebook, create an account called Social or Social #1 or Social <whatever-your-topic-is>.

As long as it starts with Social then it’s not going to be treated like a blog profile. It’s going to be treated like a social profile, and it won’t be continually trying to log into a non-existent blog.

Page 6: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

2. Facebook

Now we’re going to look at how to add a Facebook account.

Go to the number two section in the settings area and put in the account email for the Facebook account that you want to connect to; the password, and create a friendly name. There’s a procedure that occurs every time you add a Facebook account, where you have to basically verify or validate that you want to give permission to our app. Our app is called Video Zap.

When you enter this account information and then click Save, a little dialogue box is going to appear for Facebook.

You’re going to have to login into the screen with your Facebook email and password. Click the checkbox that says “keep me logged in to video zap” and login.

Facebook is going to ask you for permission and will show:

“Video zap will receive info from your public profile,” click Okay

“Video zap would like to post to your friends on your behalf,” Click Okay.

“Video Zap would like to manage your pages,” Click Okay.

If everything is good, the dialogue box is going to disappear and you’re going to be all set to post to Facebook. You now have the account saved.

A very important step that you have to remember now:

When you go back, select one of your profiles that you want to connect to this Facebook account and then select the Facebook account from the dropdown list and save it. Now, you have this Facebook account attached to the Profile Name.

That means when you switch over to the Social Posting section, you’re going to see that account and any fan pages that might be underneath that account. You can access and post to them.

3. Twitter

To add a Twitter account, you’re going to do something similar to what you did with Facebook.

Go to Twitter and put in your username.

This is not an email address this time; it’s a username and your password for Twitter.

Once you put that in, you have to get a pin which you get by clicking the Get Pin button and that opens a browser which takes you to Twitter and asks you “Do you want to authorize video zap to use your account?” Put in the same username as you had in the program and then authorize the app.

Page 7: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Now, take the seven-digit number and put it back into the program. You can copy and paste it or write it down. Go back to ICC Express, put the pin in the Authorization Pin box, click validate and save.

ICC Express goes to Twitter and validates that pin and you are set with permission to post with the app.

Now, there’s one more important part to this.

Just like with Facebook, go back to the WordPress site, select the profile from the drop down list and then save it to the Profile. That way, it’s going to connect it to the Social section.

4. Talkwalker

We’re always looking for new ways to curate content and one of the ways that we found is through a website called Talkwalker.com.

Talkwalker is an alerts system and it’s pretty much modeled after Google Alerts.

Note: Due to changes in Google Alerts, we removed the direct integration of Google Alerts from our software. As a replacement, we’ve integrated Talkwalker Alerts directly into ICC Express.

Getting Started with Talkwalker

Go to http://www.talkwalker.com/en/alerts/ and create your first alert. The first time you go there, it will show a screen

Page 8: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Enter in a search query, (DO YOU CHANGE THE LANGUAGE TO ENGLISH?) and your email address and click “Create Alert”.

Talkwalker will create your account and send you an email with your password. Verify the account and copy the email address and password into the Talkwalker Logins screen. Save.

Return to Wordpress Sites and add your Talkwalker account to your profile. Save.

Note: Talkwalker only allows 100 alerts per free account.

Tip: Create a Gmail account for each WordPress site

Talkwalker creates RSS Feeds and also sends it to your email. Best practice is to turn off email delivery. Then add more alerts, creating the keyword alerts that you want.

The Talkwalker Alerts will be available in the curation section after a day or so to allow your alerts to accumulate if it is a new account. After 24 hours, you’ll see that there is news available.

Other Logins

Google Logins

We were using the Google logins for our interfacing software Keyworkz, but we have since switched over to using SEM Rush keyword data. Currently the Google logins are not used anywhere in the program.

Bit.ly

The Bit.ly is a URL shortener which takes long URLs and makes them into short URLs.

Page 9: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

We don’t recommend using that with Facebook but it does help with Twitter as we believe Bit.ly is actually superior to Twitter’s shortener as it lasts longer because it’s a permanent forwarding.

Enter your user name and API Key if you are already a Bit.ly user. Select the Twitter check box. Click Validate and Save, that validates across to Bit.ly.

You don’t have to go back and save this to the profile because this is a one-time operation.

If you aren’t a Bit.ly user and don’t have any API Key, you can get one easily by clicking on the link provided in ICC Express to open Bit.ly in the browser. Sign up and make your own account to get your API Key.

Tip: If you an existing user but don’t know where to find your API Key, log into Bit.ly, then go to Settings, Advanced, scroll down and look for Legacy API Key and then click Show Legacy API Key. Copy and paste it into the box provided.

More Profiles

Add more profiles. To do that, we click the “Clear Fields” button to clear the fields and open it for another entry.

Tip: Before pressing “Clear Fields” save your current profile to make sure all recent changes are saved.

Type in a Profile Name and default keyword which will appear in the keyword list after you enter it.

Add in your WordPress Blog Address, Login and Password then Test to make sure it’s correct. Then Save.

Add in additional Facebook, Twitter, Talkwalker or Google accounts as needed and verify or validate as detailed before.

Note: We don’t do any validation of Talkwalker so make sure you have the right login and password.

Accounts and Keywords

Wordpress Profiles

As you have learned, you can create a number of profiles from different niche WordPress blogs that you have using ICC Express.

Note: If you do have a WordPress blog, you are going to have to put in the blog address, the login and the password. The software will remind you if you have the wrong credentials. Unless, the name of the profile starts with “Social”; in which case it’s not going to remind you about that.

Page 10: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Social Accounts

You can create Social Accounts.

If you create a profile where the profile name starts with the word Social, then it will not attempt to validate the blog and you can attach your Facebook account to that profile.

You can have a number of accounts named Social like Social #1, Social #2 or you could have “Social Niche Name Keyword” to help you to identify that social account.

You don’t have to attach a blog to it. Just create your Facebook and Twitter accounts, then come back to the Social account and select those accounts from the dropdown lists and Save that profile.

After saving, the properties of that entry are displayed in the adjacent fields. You do not have to have your Facebook and Twitter account attached to every account. You can leave some fields blank.

Themes

Hugh uses the standard WordPress themes on many of his blogs. The reason for that is that they don’t give any issues when trying to demonstrate software. Other themes work with our software but may require some special attention, depending on the theme.

Keywords

A very important section of the software is known as the Keywords List. It is a list but it’s quite a bit more complex than that. It’s to make it easy for you.

As you create profiles, the default keyword is added to the Keyword List which is then associated with that profile. The software does ask you to select it or enter a default keyword when you create the profile. As you do, it pops over onto the Keyword List.

That’s the first step in adding a keyword to the Keyword List.

However, that’s not where it stops with the keywords because what you really want is to get a number of keywords that relate to the subject of the profile so you’ll be able to browse related keywords.

There are many ways to find keywords and everyone has their favorite way. There is the keyword planner from Google and there’s other keyword software available.

We have our own keyword tool which is called ICC Keyworkz. Subscription Members have access to Keyworkz.

If you use ICC Keyworkz, you can find great keywords and it automatically interfaces with ICC Express. The keywords found show up related to the profile that you have selected.

Page 11: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Without that software, there are other ways to do it.

There are different ways to manipulate your keywords:

You can just type them in and hit enter.

You can import them from a flat file.

That may be the best way to do it. If you find the keywords that work best for your particular niche, put them in a flat file which means one keyword per line in a text file.

Select the profile of the niche that you want to import into and then click Import from the Keywords Section.

As long as the file is in the right format, the program will read the keywords in and will associate them with the selected profile.

Depending on the number of keywords, it can take a little while to iterate through them all but there is a display to show you that the keywords are importing.

Tip: You don’t really need that many keywords to really rank if they’re good keywords.

At any time for any profile you can select a different keyword to be your default keyword for your profile. This is a great feature to remember because this is really the basis of the whole function of the program.

The software starts with the profile and the default keyword. That means that as we work on a profile, the default keyword will be propagated throughout all the other sections of the program as we pull content.

Social Accounts. At any time, you can come back to your social profile and pick any keyword. So if you want to curate to Facebook, obviously Facebook is not limited in terms of niche. Click your keyword and save. When you curate on that social account, it will be pulling from the keyword selected to bring in content.

Page 12: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

2. Curation Sources

Profile Source Connections

Go to Screen Tab 2 Curation Sources, select 2. Profile Source Connections and click on a profile on the left-hand side. The keywords that are attached to that profile are going to be highlighted on the right-hand side. This is the full list of keywords.

Basically, whatever is connected to the selected profile in the left will be highlighted on the right. If you want to add existing keywords to a profile, click connect and if you want to remove them from the profile, click disconnect.

Profiles Selection

No matter where you are in the program, with ICC Express, you can come back to the settings page and click on a profile.

By doing that, it will automatically reload all the objects of the program; to be related to that profile. That includes all the Facebook and Twitter accounts, the Talkwalker references, the keywords and the curation sources as they’re connected to the profile.

That actually works the same as switching the selector in the blog curation screen or in the social posting screen. It’s the same thing as switching profiles and it completely changes all the settings for the whole program when you do that.

It’s important that you understand that.

The Screen Tab 2 Curation Sources Screen also has a profile selector that has the same effect. It completely changes all the settings throughout the whole program based on what is saved to the profile.

Note: Switching the profile does not lose your content that you might have in the blog curation editor or any link that you might have selected in the text box for the Facebook and Twitter posting.

It does change your keywords, your curation sources and any news will disappear.

Sources – RSS Feeds

On the settings page, we basically defined the destinations of our content and on Screen Tab 2 Curation Sources, we will define most of the sources. The keywords also define the sources.

Adding feeds and websites.

Adding a RSS Feed

On the right of the screen is the Profile selector. Select the profile that you want to curate to, then click “Add a Feed”

Page 13: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Tip: To find feeds, you can go to the website and right click on an RSS icon and copy the link location and paste it in.

Then click Parse RSS Feed. It takes a moment as it gets the feed, reads it, goes through all the stories and list them in the window.

Now you can see what that feed contains. If you want to view one of the stories, click the story and then click the button “View Selected Story”. It will open in your browser.

If it’s a feed you want to keep, click the Add button. You can then add in another feed. If you are finished adding feeds, click ‘Done’ and you will see your feed or feeds that were added now appear in the list

If you switch to another profile, the RSS list will disappear as it’s connected to the selected profile. Just switch back to see that your RSS list is still there for the original profile, if you are concerned.

You can also view your RSS Feeds under Profile Source Connections by clicking the RSS Feed selection and then you can see all the RSS Feeds that you have saved.

If it’s highlighted with the profile in the left that means it’s connected to that profile. If it’s not highlighted, then it’s not connected to that profile.

If you wanted to select a RSS Feed and connect it to a profile, all you have to do is click the entry on the right and then click the Connect button and they will be connected.

Note: RSS feeds can be connected to multiple profiles so you don’t need to add the same feed twice. Just go to the profile source connections where it’s already listed, select it and connect it.

Deleting RSS Feeds

At the current time, RSS Feeds is the only place to delete them. Select the Feed/s and click the “Delete Selected Feeds” button. We’re always doing upgrades and enhancements so that may change.

How RSS Feeds work with Curation

If we go to the Curation section, select the profile with RSS Feeds connected. On the News icon will appear all the news from the RSS Feed. If we want to create a template curated article from any of the stories, just on one of these three icons or on the line item itself.

The blue one gives you a particular kind of templating that embeds the keyword and then you can mark that up.

The red one contains not templated curating but a guide for you to curate with.

The blank one just does the curated test with no templating and no guide.

With the fully templated addition, which is the blue T, you’re going to get:

Page 14: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Some preamble with your selected keyword embedded

Curated text

The H2 title

The attributed author

Templated after curation with the keyword embedded again

A potential call to action templated down

Do not use it exactly as is as it is just meant as a suggestion.

Personally, Hugh always opts for the fully templated one and then marks it up.

Note: Never leave this sentence in your post from the templating, “Here’s why information about your keyword is important.” Always change that and write something that gives value added to your post.

Source Monitor

ICC Express also has a “source monitor.” Anytime that you select an article, you can view that article in Screen Tab Number 5 Source Monitor, just by clicking on the tab and giving it time to download the article.

Tip: If ever a pop up or security screen appears, just say yes, they are usually cookies or permissions for the site.

That also works with any images or videos that you choose when you’re in social posting.

Now you know how to use the RSS Feeds to get content.

You can add as many feeds as you want in the screen and as you add it, it will be connected to the selected profile.

Sources – HTML Urls

In the HTML URL section of the Curation Sources, you can add any website anywhere from the internet.

Select your profile from the right hand selection and click the “Add a URL” button to open a dialogue box and put in a good URL.

You might want to copy and paste the URL or link from your browser. Then select Parse HTML URL.

In most cases, you’re going to get an HTML title and the Meta Description. Some pages don’t have Meta Descriptions. Believe it or not, some web pages don’t even have titles. You might end up with empty fields depending on what you’re trying to parse.

Page 15: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Click the Add Button and once you add it, it disappears, meaning it’s been imported into your list of URLs and then you can go ahead and add another one if you want, always clicking the Parse HTML button to check the URL.

After you close the Add a HTML URL box, your URL will appear on the selected profile.

As explained in the other sections, whatever operation you’re doing at the time is going to be applied to the currently selected profile.

You’ll notice that the URL will show you the Meta Description that was downloaded when the URL was added.

If it is blank, you may want to get some information to save for curation. You can double click on the entry in the list and that will open the URL in a browser. Select some regular data from the site that describes it and put that in the text box.

The Author/Source may also be blank so if there is no source so you might want to add something in.

WordPress blogs often have authors but a lot of web pages don’t. However, if it’s a WordPress blog, we recommend getting the RSS Feed so you wouldn’t be using the URL section.

To add in a source, type in an Author name or source and click Save. You can use the website URL to give attribution also if you can’t find an author.

Now each URL has a title, a description or Meta Description and an author. That is all you need for curation purposes

Curation with Web Pages (HTML URL’s)

You can use Web Pages / HTML Url’s with Screen Tab Number 3- Blog Curation or Number 4 - Social Posting and Scheduling. We have the same content channeling through each section based on the profile.

Select Web Pages and immediately you’ll see the HTML URLs show up in the news button. Select your news story and use your preferred templating.

The Meta Description information that we saved and the author with the link will be attributed back to the original source.

Sources – GAlerts Reader Plugin

The fourth tab that we have in the Curation Sources section is the GAlerts Reader Plugin URL.

This is a unique operation in ICC Express where you can plug in a special URL that is created from the GAlerts Reader Plugin. This plugin is loaded on your website and creates a unique RSS Feed.

Page 16: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Note: The plugin was created after I realized that Google was still sending email alerts so we made a plugin that logs in to your Gmail account and reads the alerts. It then puts them all into an RSS Feed that we can load into ICC Express.

There is training available for GAlerts Reader Plugin from within your WordPress Admin panel and comes with a walk through video.

When you start and first install it, it asks you for your Gmail address and your password. Click to submit it and assuming you’ve been collecting email alerts from Google Alerts, at that Gmail address, it’s going to download those alerts and store them in the database that it creates on your server.

This is one of the reasons why the GAlerts Reader Plugin is a lot better than just using the Google Alerts feeds individually.

First of all, Google does not give you a single pointer to all the alerts in your account. You have to get them individually. However, as you get these feeds accumulated into the Alerts’ database, there’s a lot of ways that you can manage the data.

As we go forward with our customer base on the GAlerts Reader Plugin, we’ll come up with new ways of programming the data to filter it and give you better and better access to great content.

In the meantime, there’s several ways to use this.

You can use it individually just by opening one keyword, because they’re all keyword-base feeds so you can copy the URL and paste it in as a regular RSS Feed. It’s exactly what it is when we just take one feed.

But the main action that the GAlerts Reader Plugin does is it creates one main RSS feed that contains a pointer to all the other feeds.

Copy that URL, go to ICC Express and go to the GAlerts Reader Plugin URL tab. Select the profile you want to associate with that feed, paste or enter in the URL from GAlerts Reader Plugin and Save.

You will access all the keyword feeds that exist on the GAlerts Reader Plugin and they are downloaded directly in ICC Express.

That means that when you go to the Curation Section and you can either go to the Curation Section for Blog Curation or for a Social Posting, you can select the GAlerts Reader from the news source selector. You then have all the feeds to choose from. Each one of these contains multiple stories and all of this content came from the GAlerts Reader Plugin.

We believe that the GAlerts Reader Plugin is an awesome addition to the suite of tools that we have.

If you would like to obtain a copy of the GAlerts Reader Plugin, you can click the link for purchase options.

Page 17: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Note: (Subscription Members do not need to purchase the plugin)

Sources – Talkwalker

In the Settings page, there is the ability to add different Talkwalker accounts and then associate them with individual profiles. It doesn’t have a friendly name so you have to remember which talkwalker account email is linked to each profile.

Note: This option to associate a friendly name for Talkwalker accounts has been added to our requested updates list.

Attach your Talkwalker account with your selected profile and Save and then it’s always going to be associated with the account.

What ICC Express does when you select to use Talkwalker is go to the website, logs in, downloads and parses the links out to the feeds. Then ICC Express makes them available for you.

All you have to do is enter your Talkwalker account credentials and it will automatically come in and grab that information for you.

Start by selecting Talkwalker Alerts in the middle selector.

It will display “Initiating Talkwalker login” and then “Talkwalker feeds loaded for selected profile” at the bottom of the screen. You should be mindful of that display because while that process is going on, things might get a little confused if you don’t wait for it to finish.

After the feeds are loaded, the third dropdown will display all the keyword feeds that are coming from your Talkwalker account. The first one will be selected, and that means it is now displaying contents in the news button. If there are no contents, that button will be grayed out.

If you want to look at the source of that feed, go over to Screen Tab Number 5 – Source Monitor and see exactly what you selected.

It may take a few seconds to download and show up. This works for any news, image or video links that you want to share on the Screen Tab Number 4 - Social Posting tab or Screen Tab Number 3 - Blog Curation. They both have the same controls.

Note: If you see a pop-up appear, just say yes because it has to do with certificates on the page that’s loading. It’s just a browser thing.

To use the Talkwalker functionality, select the Talkwalker Alerts and they load with news. Each one has a different set of news and content.

3. Blog Curation and Bookmarking

Categories

There is a selector for Categories. ICC Express downloads from your profile, if there’s a blog attached, the categories from your WordPress blog and loads them into the categories drop down list.

If you have the same keywords saved in your ICC Express installation as you have created into categories on your blog, then ICC Express will automatically select that category for you to post to if you have it selected as your default keyword.

When you switch your profile, ICC Express is going to download all the categories from the blog and then automatically select the category that matches that. That’s one way the keyword propagates throughout the program. There are other ways as well.

The keyword propagates throughout the program in another way and that’s by selecting the Blue T template.

News

There are three options to choose when selecting a News Article.

The Blank Icon

The Blue T

The Red T

The Blank

The Blank Icon is basic curation.

You will have a title in H2, an attribution and basic commentary. You can then add in value and write in your curation before the Title, add in an image or video, put some curation afterwards and add in a call to action.

The Red T

You can click on the Red T and you have guide templating appear. If you click the red T, you will see displayed “Place your opening curation after this and then delete this text” and “Place your closing curation after this and delete this text” appearing before and after.

Make sure you do delete this text completely. In fact, you may want to go to the source and just delete that P style color red and the closing P tag.

But we do have this other way which involves templating. In which case you would click the Blue T rather than the blank or Red one.

Page 19: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

The Blue T

Hugh’s favorite option, hands down, above all, is the fully-templated curation option which is the Blue T. If you click the blue T, you almost have the article written for you.

Note: Do not post it without editing, always rewrite it.

The reason we recommend it is ICC Express has already embedded the default keyword in the curation. This template is keyword oriented.

Your keyword will be inserted into the title which is important however always change the title. Do not leave in what the template creates and write something different.

Use the Source Monitor and go look at the source article. You may get something better to curate than what the program selected. Make sure it’s formatted properly also and has the correct attribution.

Add in some call to action to enhance the “Please share this” added by ICC Express

Spend time on your curation. That means reading the article and getting to know what it’s about first.

Image Browser

Place an image.

Open the image browser and ICC Express will initiate a search based on the default keyword from the profile. It should have images for the default keyword. If you want different or more images, just switch image sources.

There are four options here.

Save to Disk

The Blank Icon

The Blue T

Research this image

If we click the blank icon, we’re going to get the image without any type of other formatting or anything.

If we click the Blue T, we’re going to get more text associated with the image.

Once you have added your image you now have an image of your keywords and then the words that it got from the image itself. You can:

Change the width, the height, put a border on it, put space around it, alignment etc.

Create a link around it

Set more advanced properties of the image itself such as style.

Page 20: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Float left or right if you know how to do that.

Posting to your Blog

You are ready to post to your blog when you have finished your curation.

ICC Express is going to create a post on your blog. When it does that, it creates a permalink which is the permanent link to that blog post.

Time-Sync Plugin

ICC Express will always check for the Time-Sync Plugin on your blog. It will say Server Time-Sync not available if it’s not installed. Wordpress will still post instantly.

Facebook and Twitter Accounts

When you are posting, you’re going to see the Facebook pages and the Twitter account screen.

ICC Express makes the blog post; the blog creates the permalink and sends it back to ICC Express. Then, ICC Express takes that permalink and sends it to Facebook and pins it onto Facebook, creating a bookmark pointing back to your blog post.

What’s going to happen is it displays, “The post will be scheduled to publish today, Day, Date at Time” which is the time now.

You can set the bookmark to post on your Facebook Pages. The article is posted on Facebook and creates a bookmark. When you click on the Facebook link, it goes straight to your blog.

Note: Edit the title for Facebook to make it more compact. ICC Express will use the default title that it makes for you.

Note: With Viral Image Curator Pro, you can download the image, store it on your blog and then build a blog post around it. This has not yet been built into ICC Express but it is part of our upgrade list. In the meantime, you can embed images.

Save your post as a draft

If you want to save your post, click the disk icon and it is saved as a draft.

You can also do that before you post it, however the program won’t remove it until you click the clear button.

You can post it again or can save it and the title becomes the entry in the list of drafts. If you wanted to open your draft again, open it using the open folder icon (open a saved draft), select the draft, open it and the whole post comes back with all the same source code and the same title.

You could even switch profiles and post the same post onto another blog. We do NOT recommend duplicate posts.

Page 21: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Note: When you change profiles, you may have different Facebook pages connected to that profile.

When posting you can set random dates for posting to your Facebook pages. The main Facebook account cannot be dated or scheduled but all other pages you select can be. You could actually schedule them to be at any time.

View Scheduled Facebook Page Posts

In your Facebook Page, click Edit Page and select Use Activity Log. You will see scheduled posts.

Curation: Blog Post Time Sync

You can set a date in the future for your blog post if you choose to. You can set it by opening the calendar and changing the hours and the minute.

If you do that, it’s not going to be visible on your blog until your server reaches that time.

It may not even be visible if you don’t set the date depending on the difference between your server time and your desktop time.

Your desktop is where ICC Express is running and your server has its own clock. You may be telling it to post at 3:00pm and its 3:00pm where you are but its only 12:00pm where the server is. So the server then might wait three hours to publish your post.

Note: That’s something to be aware of if you can’t see your post appearing.

Web Dimensions has a plugin that helps you called the Time Sync Manager. You have to have your blog set on UTC +0 in the settings of your WordPress blog for the Time Sync Manager Plugin to work.

The plugin is available to you free as a Web Dimension software user. You can download a copy from this page if you are a member

Page 22: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

4. Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling

Social: News Share

Screen Tab 4 Social Posting and Scheduling is somewhat similar to Screen Tab 3 Blog Curation, in that you are grabbing content, marking it up and then posting it. The difference is, you’re not posting it on a blog, you’re posting it directly onto Facebook and/or Twitter.

Basically what ICC Express does is share links with some additional description to the links. You don’t have to worry about a title or marking up the HTML. Mainly it’s just one link and some descriptive text. There are few things to be aware of, which we will discuss as we work through this section.

You can select news, an image or a video to share on Facebook. What will happen after you have selected is that you will see it appear in the Facebook Share Preview Pane.

The preview area is not really for you to use to actually execute your operations, although you can if you want to. The main reason for this pane is to give you a preview of what your Facebook share will appear as or what it will look like.

Whenever you select your news link or image or video, whatever you select is going to appear in the Facebook share box. It’s also going to be displayed in the Source Monitor box.

Note: If a window comes up and it asks you to login, we have put in auto login code so it should log you in automatically. However if it’s asking you to log in, log in manually and then it’s going to show the previews from then on.

Whatever goes into the description box will accompany the share and you might want to mark it up or change it to what you’re going to share with your Facebook post. You can share it to your main account and you can also share to fan pages where it will create a bookmark and share.

That’s how you do the basic share with ICC Express using the Social Posting and Scheduling page.

When you finish your post, you can still see the bookmark and you can see the results of your post. To clear your post, click the Reset All button and that removes the link and removes all the settings from all the data associated with the fan pages or the targets so you can start again.

Social: Images & Videos

When you finish your post, you can still see the bookmark and the results of your post.

To clear, click the Reset All button and that basically removes the link(s) and removes all the settings from all the data associated with the fan pages or the targets so you can start anew.

So far we have showed you the news links and how to use them. You can get news from your RSS feeds, your GAlerts, from web pages or Talkwalker and you can get your news and post the link and that will show in the program.

Page 23: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Now I’m going to show you the other kind of links that you can post.

Images

Tip: If your link doesn’t load correctly (that seems to happen more with the royalty free image sources like Wikimedia) click the refresh button and it should load.

In Social Posting, use the image button to open the image browser. Use the Blue T (sharing the link with the text that’s generated from the description and the URL of the image). By clicking the blue button, you’re propagating your keyword which your default keyword for the profile

The keyword image is derived from the text fields that came from the image itself and then at the end it tags about your default keyword name saying, “An image of “Image Description” about “keyword.” That’s how the default keyword propagates throughout this section.

You can use the text provided or you can mark it up and change it. Then you can post it.

It will create another bookmark with a link back to the embedded image and the text that we have in that text box.

To clear, click Reset All and start again.

Note: On the image or the video browser, you can click the question mark to get all the information about that object.

Videos

Select the Open Video icon and see the videos that will load based on your keyword. As mentioned above, click the question mark to view the video to make sure it is a suitable video for your keyword.

Click the Blue T embed with the associated templating or the blank without it. It then creates a bookmark.

You now have a video call that’s generated by ICC Express. Depending on what templating you selected, you can use the quote that comes from the YouTube video and whatever your keyword is at the end.

You may choose not to use this exact templating. If you don’t, you can delete it. ICC Express will put the link in and you can choose to delete the link and put your own text in.

Select the Facebook Pages you wish to share the video on and Post.

The video will show on your Facebook page or in your Activity Log.

Note: If embedding has been disabled for the video it will play in the Facebook timeline. If the video has not been enabled for embedding, it’s going to open You Tube

When you are finished, click Reset All.

Page 24: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

That shows you now the basic three kinds of share on Facebook;

News

Image

Video

We will now get into more complex types of sharing and Facebook which will include multiple fan page posting and scheduled posting.

Social: Scheduling & Spintax - Advanced Techniques

Advanced features of the social posting and scheduling page

When you go to Screen Tab Number 4 - Social Posting and Scheduling, what will be displayed in this list will be the currently logged in Facebook account in any fan pages under which you have admin authority.

You can change that by changing the profile and bringing up a whole new set of Facebook login and fan pages. You can do that basically every time that you switch your profile.

On one side of the screen is the Facebook Share Preview Pane.

This is included mainly as a convenience for you to see how your bookmark may appear after it’s posted on Facebook. Whenever you select any item, it will display.

Select a news item, image or video and select the templating you wish to use.

If you click the blue T, that template will appear. That puts some text in and loads up the link in the preview pane.

If you click the blank icon, that’s going to give you just the link in the text box. You can always delete or edit it.

Now you can post by selecting multiple fan pages. You can schedule to whatever Facebook Fan Pages you are an admin for.

You will basically place multiple links with the same text which are duplicate. You can change that.

Automated Spintax

If you want different text to go to different fan pages, you will use the available Automated Spintax within ICC Express.

Note: Always select your pages first because this is what determines the Spintax and it automatically sets it based on the pages that you select.

Select the fan pages that you want to post to and then click Set Spintax. You can choose to clear or not the text put there by our program.

Page 25: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Note: If you do want to keep the text, the program will put that text in the first one selected in your list.

The selected fan pages will be inserted and in between them is this character “|”and around them is the opening curly brace “{“ and the closing curly brace”}”. Make sure you don’t delete them.

{

Facebook Page 1

|

Facebook Page 2

}

Select and write over the first Facebook Page 1 with a comment.

Select and write over Facebook Page 2 with a different comment.

{

Replace with text specific to FB Page 1

|

Replace with text specific to FB Page 2

}

You can post to both of these pages and more at the same time but Facebook Page 1 will get the text you wrote and Facebook Page 2 will get a different text.

This is a demonstration of how to use our simple spinning function to direct different text to different fan pages. When finished, Reset All.

Schedule Posts to Fan Pages.

You can set a post date by clicking the button next to the desired fan page and setting the date and time.

After you set the date, the new date is reflected in the label of the button. You can always change it by opening it and setting the date again.

To check future scheduled posts, go to the Use Activity Log to see what’s scheduled.

You can combine scheduled posting with Spintax so that your posts will come out with unique text with each post.

Page 26: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Setting Random Dates.

Select multiple pages and then choose either one, two or three days apart from the drop down selection. The “Set Random Dates” will be automatically selected.

The first page selected will not be scheduled and it will go immediately. Each page selected will then post depending on the number of random days selected.

You can choose to uncheck the first page selected and the random dates will start the number of days selected later.

You can combine Set Spintax with setting random dates and each one of the pages that are selected will have its own text position in the text box. You can make a separate text for each fan page selected.

Tip: Be very careful if using Spintax that you don’t delete the “|” character.

If you do, put it back. It’s the pipe character which is the shift key and usually the key above the enter key, together. Likewise, do not delete the opening curly brace or the closing curly brace.

After you have entered your Spintax and random dates to your FB pages, post and all of your selected pages will have a post waiting to be published in your fan page, exactly as designed and engineered in this section of the Screen Tab 4 Social Posting and Scheduling of ICC Express.

This covers the features of how you use these various controls to make your fan page posts unique in time as well as unique in content.

Social: Meme Editor

This is another feature in ICC Express that’s currently only accessible through the Screen Tab Number 4 Social Posting and Scheduling and that’s the Meme Editor.

You can access it in two different ways.

You can open a local image file in the Meme Editor.

When you click that button, it opens with basically a file browser. You can find an image or photo that you want to make a meme out of on your hard disk, select and open it. It appears inside the Meme Editor. You have three text fields that you can work with.

You can drag around the image;

the text above

the text below

what we call the URL or post script at the bottom of the image.

You can also change;

The size of the image by moving the slider.

Page 27: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Add text glow (which is the surrounding color to the text so you can make the text standout from the photo)

Change the font of the text (and there are a lot of fonts to choose from)

Change the size of the text

Change the color.

The changes can be made for all the text boxes.

Once you have created your meme, you can either save the image to disk or insert it in your social post.

You can also open and select another picture if you don’t like the one you selected.

You can click the preview and that should shrink it to the point where you can see the whole image.

You can post the image to your fan pages. You can use multiple schedules and multiple content or just put it on your main Facebook account

That’s how you use the Meme Editor with a local image that you have on your own computer.

Social: Meme Browser

This is the second way to use the Meme Editor

You can use a lot of other images with the Meme Editor and that’s by navigating to Screen Tab 4 and then clicking on the image browser.

The image browser gives you access to a lot of images to put in the Meme Editor. When you select an image, make sure you click the question mark to open and research that image. Also, make sure it’s something that you can use without getting into copyright trouble.

Sources

You are looking for images that say you’re free to share, distribute, copy and transmit the image. There’s a lot of different sources in Google Creative Commons. There’s also Flickr and a number of other sources.

You can check out what Wiki images you can select. Generally, these are available to be used however again, and we can’t stress it enough, make sure you do your research.

The software in ICC Express doesn’t attribute the image so keep looking when using Meme Editor to find an image that you are free to use without attribution.

A really awesome image source is Pixabay. The keyword strategy is what drives the better images. You can research the images and see if they are free to use.

Page 28: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

You need to check on the public domain license and make sure you see it saying something similar to

“The person who associated a work with this deed has dedicated the work to the public domain, waiving all their rights. You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission.”

Much of Pixabay is like that. There’s some really good pictures available there.

“You can copy, modify, distribute, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission.” The last time we checked, most of Pixabay seems to have that wonderful license, however do your own research.

You can also try the Morgue File for images. They don’t require a lot of attribution if any. Most of the licenses in Morgue Files have this “you’re allowed to copy, distribute, transmit the work and adapt the work. Attribution is not required.” The only thing you can’t do is take the photo all by itself, then go and try to sell the photo.

You can find an image by using the Image Browser

When you find something that you like and you want to make a meme out of it, all you have to do is click the pencil icon and that loads the image right into the Meme Editor.

At this point, you are able to do all the editing we mentioned in the above section “Social – Meme Editor”.

Once you’ve got it marked up the way you like it, you can save it to disk and then use it as you wish or you can insert it in your social post and then do your posting the ways we have shown you.

You can find nearly any image that you want out there. Just make sure you don’t have to give a lot of credit for it to other people. Mark it up, do whatever you want with it then insert it into your post and then you can do your posting the same way that we’ve mentioned before.

5. Tips, Tricks and Best Practices

Sources – RSS Issues

There are some WordPress blogs that are running an older style of RSS that our algorithm does not parse very well. You may get an error of 1085. which means that the XML is not well-formed.

The feed validates but if you check the feed, it comes back saying “title should not be blank” several times or “Unregistered link relationship”. There are definitely complaints about this feed even though it does say it is a valid RSS feed. What happens is when our algorithm tries to decipher it or parse it; it fails.

What we’ve discovered also is that you can obtain the correct format of feed from most WordPress blogs if you just change the URL a little bit. Just go to the end of the URL and type /atom/ and then load that feed.

Sources – HTML Url Add

If the screen doesn’t update immediately for some reason, just change profiles and change back and that will force the program to refresh.

Curation: Profile Architecture

Now we’re going to move on into the finer points of how to use the curation screens, specifically Screen Tab 3, Blog Curation and Bookmarking and Screen Tab 4 , Social Posting and Scheduling.

You can switch around your profiles just by selecting them from the profile selection box. It’s important to know that because as you switch profiles, you’re also switching your curation sources.

When you select a profile, the connected sources are available.

You can always use the other keywords or you can type in new ones anytime you want to – anywhere in the program. But the connected one is by default attached.

When you go to the Blog Curation Bookmarking screen, the cursor may turn in to a watch for just a second as it loads the first RSS feed if you have any RSS feed saved to your profile.

There are three selectors at the top of the screen and three buttons. These are your most important conecpts to understand.

There are the three selectors;

Profile Selector

News Source Selector

Feed Selector.

There are the three buttons;

Page 30: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

Story selector

Image Selector

Video Selector

There is not a lot of complicated labeling on all of these because it’s intuitive once you get the idea.

Remember, if you change your profile, you will switch everything attached. That means everything in these news sources, feeds, stories, image and the video browser will also change.

Let’s take a look for a moment at the architecture of an ICC Express profile.

This may seem a little bit didactic but clear understanding of the architecture of the system will really help you become a power user with it.

Let’s start with just defining what the profile has.

First, with the WordPress blog.

With a WordPress blog attached to your profile, you’re going to have one blog with the login password categories that ICC Express will utilize and post and which ICC Express will access and add to.

In addition then, you will have one Facebook account attached to the profile and the Facebook account consist of one personal Facebook account under which any number of fan page may be accessed if you are the admin. We don’t access the fan pages separately from the personal account that owns it. We have to go through that personal account.

By attaching a particular Facebook account to the profile that means we’re accessing a particular set of fan pages that exist under that Facebook personal account.

Twitter - we don’t recommend multiple posting to Twitter at this time. You can post to one profile. Even better, Facebook has a new feature where you can automatically retweet your Facebook post to Twitter.

We recommend that you consider using that rather than using the Twitter features of our software. That’s up to you. Just posting to a fan page and having that fan page automatically retweet it to Twitter right from Facebook, may be better for you because then you’re not over spamming.

You might just have a social account in which case it won’t have a blog.

You have your profile and the sources selector in Blog Curation and Bookmarking. By default, it’s going to select RSS Feeds. RSS Feeds is a set of sets. In other words, it’s not a singular item. Every RSS feed, every individual feed, contains a collection of stories. If you have multiple feeds, that doesn’t just mean you have multiple stories; that means you have multiple collections of stories. Every time you switch a feed, you’re opening a whole new collection of stories from which you may select a story.

Page 31: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

You’ve got the profile which contains various news sources. Each source contains various channels of RSS feeds or whatever. Each channel contains collection of stories. Your news sources will change depending on which one of these in the middle drop down that you select.

If you have RSS feeds selected then a drop down list will contain all the RSS feeds that you have connected to that profile.

If you select GAlerts Reader, it’s going to show you the contents of your GAlerts Reader feed selection. Each one of them is a new feed which contains a collection of stories.

When you switch to web pages, that source is one list. It is not a channel of collections, it’s only one list of single websites that you’ve added one at a time. So, they don’t come in channels.

The next source is Talkwalker Alerts. When you select Talkwalker alerts, in the lower left-hand corner of the screen it will say “initiating Talkwalker login” as Talkwalker feeds are loaded for your selected profile. It takes a moment for them to load up. The program won’t load them until you request them by selecting the Talkwalker option in the list and then it takes a second as they load up.

The Talkwalker Alerts come as a list of channels, a list of collections. It’s one set of various keywords that you’ve created into feeds that are all on one particular Talkwalker account that you’ve associated with that profile.

Those are the news source that you have choose from. Whatever is in them depends on what you have setup in the section; Screen Tab 3 Curation Sources. What you’ve added in there as a feed, what you’ve added and curated as a website, as a URL and whether or not you have the GAlerts Reader Plugin and how well you’ve setup your alerts feeds on Google. And of course your connections, what you have connected to the profile.

Use ICC Express with Blogger

You can use ICC Express with Blogger. ICC Express doesn’t have an XML-RPC connection with Blogger. There is a way though that you can use our software with Blogger.

Make an account called Social Blogger. Any profile that starts with the word “Social” is not going to be forced to test whether the login can work.

Since we don’t have that XML-RPC for Blogspot yet, it’s not going to work. In fact, you can put in your login but then if you test it, it’s just going to say error 2032.

Create a Social Blogger profile, and add your sources, for example a Talkwalker account and save that. Then go to the Blog Curation Screen and curate until you have created a post.

Go to your Blogger account, log in and create a new post and then go back to the ICC Express post. Click on the button called Source, Select all, and then right-click to copy or use control C or command C on a Mac. Copy it all, go back to Blogger and paste everything in your post there.

Page 32: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

To make sure it all works, click the Compose button and you will have a complete article, formatted exactly the same as you had it in ICC Pro. To complete it, get the title from ICC Express and paste that in.

You can then publish your Blogger post now.

There’s more that you can do with Blogger with ICC Express.

First of all, you can always save your post if you want to save it and you can open it later and then post it somewhere else if you want to.

What we suggest is that you go to the RSS feeds section and add the feed from your Blogger blog. The way you’re going to do that is that on your Blogspot blog, find the link that says Subscribe to Post Atom. Then right-click on that hyperlink there and copy the link location or copy link address, whatever your browser says.

In ICC Express, click Add a Feed, paste that feed in, parse it and now that’s going to be available to you.

Then in the Settings page and on the social Blogger profile, you can select your Facebook account and connect it by saving it to that profile. Now the Social Blogger account has a Facebook account attached.

Since we have added that Blogspot to our RSS feeds, it’s immediately available to use in Social Posting and Scheduling,

You can now select your news story from Blogger and you can bookmark your own blog onto your fan pages.

You can then use all the features that we have mentioned are available in Social Posting.

Strategy Session 1

How you should be using ICC Express for your blog to get traffic and rankings.

Of course, the most important part of the whole game is to figure out what your keywords are before you even get started early. If you’ve already started a blog and you’re not having a lot of success, you’re not getting ranked and you’re not getting traffic, then it’s because either you’ve chosen the wrong keywords or you’ve implemented your keywords incorrectly unto your website.

Because of that, Google is not able to really understand what the point is that you’re trying to make with the website.

It amazes me how time and time again people make the same mistake or people kind of get caught up in their own idea of what their website is supposed to mean rather than looking at how it appears to the outside world, specifically Google in terms of the presentation, the importance of the keywords on how they’re presented to Google and the hierarchical structure of the keywords on the website or lack thereof.

Page 33: ICC Express User Guide - Amazon S3 · Curation: Social Posting & Scheduling ... Social: News Share ... Strategy Session 2.....34. Welcome Hi everyone and welcome to ICC Express. You

My understanding is that what we really need to do is try to find keywords with a low competition but with a considerable search amount of volume.

Google has made it more difficult by removing the keyword tool. But they do have the keyword planner and then we can identify areas where we can get a foothold. That’s what we do when we pick our keywords going into the whole thing.

There are a lot of wonderful keyword tools out there that you can use to identify the keywords that you want to incorporate into your website, in your project, your blog, your online presence. We also have our own tool called ICC Keyworkz and it interfaces directly with the ICC Express database. You can get your keywords from that program and basically set them up in ICC Express.

Keyworkz has an interface to Google’s keyword planner and also to Google Suggest.

We try to identify the keywords that have a very nice search volume and low competition. We also try to identify the broad match versus the exact match. Make sure there is a large volume of broad match that’s not being searched for in the exact match.

Get your keywords, put them in the flat file and import into ICC Express. Then you’ve got your keywords setup. This is done on a per-profile bases in our software, which also means per blog.

If you have multiple blogs then you’ll have to do this for each blog which is to identify those keywords that have the criteria that will enable you to catch traffic on them.

What you’re going to do is create a list of keywords. You try to identify as many of those keywords which have the criteria that you want and put them into that list. Then you want to also organize that list into parent-child relationships. You have top categories and then sub-categories. I go one level deep.

Don’t go into one, two, three, four different levels of parent-child relationships. Have them be related so you have sub-category one, sub-two, sub-three, etc.

This is what I do. You may have another way that works quite well but I’ve discovered this way that works really well as you setup your categories on your blog and then setup your menus based on your categories. Then put that menu on the main menu of your website.

Once you get that done you’re going to be matching our software in terms of the keyword list with the categories on your blog. So they’re going to be basically aligned and parallel to each other. This is the best way to set it up.

When you run ICC Express with a blog that is setup correctly this way with the keywords in the software paralleling the categories on the blog, the software automatically will select the category to post to and you’ll also be able to automatically get laser-targeted content from YouTube, possibly from the image sources and from news.

You also may want to setup Google Alerts and Talkwalker Alerts also based on the same set of keywords. The alerts don’t always work that well when you use exact long tail keywords. You may

not be able to always match laser-targeted content from feeds, the same way you can setup your blog in the software to totally mirror your keywords.

Once you have this setup correctly, then all you have to do is basically start curating content. You can do it daily, you can do it weekly.

You have to start out by getting enough content that’s going to fill out the subjects underneath the categories that you have on your blog. That’s the important thing.

I suggest to curate daily to each category under your blog. I don’t mean do a post to each category every day. I just mean distribute content evenly throughout all the different categories so you start filling those in. Because if you have your blogs setup correctly the way we do it, then you’re going to get traffic and you’re going to get rankings.

As you do that curation daily, make sure you select laser-targeted content to the selected keyword and category. By doing that, by having these things setup the way I’m recommending here, ICC Express will do almost all the work for you and do it in a very sensible way.

If you use the templating and you have setup correctly, you’re going to get the correct kind of content generated which you should just markup a little bit to put in your own opinion and remove the stock lines for example “We feel that keyword can change the world”.

Keep the keyword and change everything around it to be your own. By having everything setup this way you can be assured that it’s going to work. We’ve proven it. It definitely does work.

Either ICC Express or Viral Video Curator Pro are tools that work wonderfully for this very procedure.

What you may also want to do, which you can do either with VVC Pro or ICC Express is that as you create your content, you just go ahead and schedule some random bookmarks to pop up in the future by selecting them in the post window of the software and setting a random date in the future.

This works especially well if you have a lot of people following your fan page and you want to get them over to your blog. So you have these bookmarks pop up and people just click and link on over to your blog.

Twitter is also quite good if you have a large following like 20,000 or something like that. You can get some traffic from it.

Strategy Session 2

I did a new website exactly following all the training that I give and it’s just getting bigger and bigger. If you can get a 100 visitors a day, that’s 3,000 visitors a month and that’s a pretty huge base of traffic. Not only for your own monetization but to throw that around to other possible advertisers.

I used my tools, ICC Keyworkz and the Silo Factory Plugin. It takes a little while to organize your keywords because I really don’t believe in letting robots do all the thinking for me so I have to get it organized well. But once you do the organization, then everything becomes automated so I got all of these keywords that I was able to research that they have some search volume on them.

It’s about curating laser-targeted content to these traffic channels and I’m using ICC Express for that. I’ve been filling out the website basically category by category, just going through them all.

I’m trying to put some content under each category and it was all done with ICC Express.

What I did was create the keywords and created my siloing or my hierarchy by using Keyworkz with the Silo Factory Plugin. At the same time, it inputted all of the keywords that I got into my profile in ICC Express so they’re all ready for me to use them. When I go to do curating:

First of all it’s going to match the categories that I have on my blog and

Second of all, it’s going to be able to pull up videos exactly matched to the keyword that’s selected as well as the category that’s selected also matched. I’m going through all these categories.

By the way, ICC Express inserts an extra image in the picture if you use the T templating; the blue T.

Recent posts populate the list. Every time we make a new post we create new tags that help us bring traffic. I just keep going through the list and curate directly to these channels.

When we do news curation, it comes up with a title in H2, with the link to the original article. Then, above the curated text is the author; the source and then the curated text, and you can add a very nice image and our call-to-action at the bottom.

This is how we fill out our laser-targeted content. Sometimes we sort of bend the rules a little bit just to make all the phrases align. When I do make mistakes, I do go back and try to fix it

People tell me again and again that by using our software in this way, they just get dominance in their market if you do it correctly and I’m doing it too.
