CHALLENGING TOURS, PASSIONATE CYCLISTS
www.voltaprotours.co.uk
This is not just a cycle ride, this is a lifetime experience.
The Iberian 1000km is an endurance challenge for riders who share a passion for cycling.
We will be covering 160 kilometres each day of the 6 day tour and travel through some of the most ancient cities of Europe, down wooded valleys, through olive groves and vineyards, climb up mountains and over expansive plains.
At the end of each day our Soigneur will ease away the pain from your burning legs.
Pace is not primary on this tour and if there are any problems the support vehicle will always be there with a helping hand.
The general routine will be:
8.30am- after the day’s briefing, start riding
11.00am - stop for coffee and cakes
1.30pm - light lunch (20 mins)
After lunch we complete the day’s riding until we arrive at our destination at approximately 3.30pm.
Post ride - massage, shower, recovery, dinner, de-briefing.
Remember, ”eat before you are hungry, drink before you are thirsty”

Day 4May 7
Salvatierra –
Valladolid
162kms –
1300m
Bit of a mixed bag of climbs and descents but the coffee break in Plaza Mayor, Salamanca is a great place to stop and one of our favourites.
The roads in this expansive flat landscape are long and straight with fields of wheat and sunflowers as far as the eye can see.
And, in the sky, we will always have the company of the circling vultures, storks and buzzards!

Day 5May 8
Valladolid –
Quintanilla
163kms –
1474m
It’s the penultimate day but the challenge doesn’t ease off as we leave Valladolid, the capital of Castile e Leon, heading forever north to the mountains of Cantabria.
You may have guessed already but, yes, we’re climbing.
Our stay in the hills on the border of Cantabria will be very welcome.
Tomorrow will be a day of descents so, rest well in the knowledge we are almost there.
