“Education is critical to Ireland’s regeneration and future success. The new climate we live in demands a new approach to education: an approach that prioritises industry relevance over academic bureaucracy; a model that can innovate and evolve at the same pace as business and technology; a model that espouses the highest quality education in bespoke surroundings at a price that is within reach.

IBAT College Dublin pioneers this new model of education. It emerges from and represents the entrepreneurial, ambitious and pragmatic new culture that will drive Ireland back to international success by creating a practical and innovative knowledge economy.”

Student Views “I decided 12 months ago that I needed to pursue an MBA in order to progress my career in this challenging economic environment. I am in a senior management role in a major FMCG company in Ireland and want to enhance my skills and contribute knowledge, direction and leadership to my organisation, all key skills enhanced as part of an MBA qualification. Our organisation has recently undergone a major restructure of which I was a part of. I worked as a member of strategic cross functional teams which I enjoyed and wanted to understand more about. The MBA programme at IBAT College is giving me the opportunity to understand how the different functions operate and the skills I require to progress my career within the organisation.”

Matt, Regional Sales Manager with major FMCG company in Ireland

“My career, former studies and lifetime interests have always revolved around business management and innovation. I have been looking for a chance to study an MBA programme for a while and when I was first presented with the exciting opportunity to participate on the IBAT College MBA programme I decided to enrol straight away. The location of the college itself plus the very friendly and extremely helpful approach from all staff members had me convinced that I made the right decision. From the initial interview and throughout the registration process I was very impressed by the level of attention to detail and guidance I received.

Diploma in Web Design

Who is this course for? This course has been specifically designed for existing Web Designers and Developers who wish to expand their knowledge of website development. The course assumes knowledge of website design equivalent to the IBAT Diploma in Website Design. Those not holding an IBAT Diploma in Web Design course or equivalent must demonstrate a proficient knowledge of CSS & HTML in website development.

What will I learn? The main objective of this course is to up-skill existing web designers to a more advanced level where they can use JavaScript programming to develop interactive sites that respond to the user - using elements such as tabs, accordions, image carousels and calendar controls. This is an intense hands-on training course - students will be expected to hand-code most of their site, using open-source tools, rather than relying on commercial products. They will be shown how to build search-engine friendly sites, built using the latest CSS layout techniques (rather than table-based layouts) and taking advantage of new HTML 5 features. They will be introduced to server-side programming (PHP and MySQL) so they can take advantage of their new skills and learn how to integrate their sites with Content Management Systems such as Joomla and WordPress so that clients can manage their own content.

What are my career prospects with this course? Students holding an IBAT Diploma in Advanced Web Design may be able to apply for more senior positions as web designers / developers. The course will allow existing web designers to expand their knowledge of website design and enable them to create more advanced web designs and work on more advanced web projects. It provides a strong foundation in programming for the Web and successful completion will open up many new opportunities in this area. Upon successful completion students can progress to Diploma in PHP & MySql.
