2014-2015 Summer 2015 Semester One Semester Two University of Chicago PD: Problem solving through inquiry; identifying and addressing global contexts. Teachers attend PD, collect resources, and share with colleagues/ departments. "Make Just One Change" Book Club: - Chapter discussions - developing and sharing lesson plans -workshops - instructional rounds - reflections of shift to inquiry - Using inquiry based framework from book club and knowledge of DP requirements: Create final exams for semester 1 & 2 Coordinators plan a PD "Unit Plan" and are transparent in sharing the plan with staff members. This will model the UBD best practices we want everyone to embrace Identifying DP requirements: What does an Ogden graduate need to be able to do? Based off of DP exams (skills, standards, concepts, content) Create unit outlines for Q1 & Q2 Including: Summative Assessments, Assessment Criteria, Key/Related Concepts, Global Contexts, Statements of inquiry, CCSS, ATL Skills Common Core skills to create a teacher-friendly document to compare and align CC skills and IB standards

Design and implement unit plans for Q3 & Q4 including: Summative Assessments, Assessment Criteria, Key/Related Concepts, Global Contexts, Statements of inquiry, CCSS, ATL Skills

Complete version 1.0 of vertical planner for each content area

Course team reflection on relationships between IB principles and practices, Inquiry Based Learning, UBD and standards based grading

School-wide reflection on relationships between IB principles and practices, Inquiry Based Learning, UBD and standards based grading

Pilot group of teachers working on developing and using standards based grading practices

Compare vertical plans across grade levels and make adjustments to incorporate interdisciplinary unit plans
