How will I Use ETS Criterion?

Three Essays “Connecting To The Arts”

You will write three essays for this course.• Each essay will have a different prompt

relating to the arts• All essays are included as “Weekly Tasks”• First Drafts are submitted on ETS Criterion

• Final Drafts of all 3 essays will be submitted on Blackboard as a single document during Finals Week.

When you attend a live event, write a BLOG REPORT and submit it under BLOGS. It will be your "Weekly Task" on weeks 5, 9, 13, and 16.

What is a Blog Report?• Think of it as a short

mini-review that you post on Blackboard so your classmates can read it.

• Each report will have a fun prompt to help you!

• Plan Ahead!• Don’t get caught off

Final Project“1-4-5” Oral Presentation

FINAL 1-4-5 PRESENTATIONS will be presented on campus during the last week of classes.  It is required that you either1. Meet ON CAMPUS for the Final 1-4-5 Presentation

OR – Create a Powerpoint or Video with Narration and

submit it on Blackboard.More about this later in the semester! 

ePointsePoints are earned for • Engagement with the community • Extra credit• Effort above and beyond

Each ePoints Activity is worth 1-15 points!

You will keep track of points earned in your ePoints Journal on Blackboard. See examples of activities on Bb.

1. Log on to Blackboard frequently.Your professor may post new announcements or course material periodically during the week. Get in the habit of checking Blackboard a few times per week. USE THE COMPUTER LAB OR

CHECK OUT A LAP TOP IF YOU NEED TO! 2. Read your syllabusUnderstand what is required for the course. Review the course schedule and plan ahead! Contact your professor if you have questions or concerns.

3. Explore BlackboardLook around. Explore! Look around your courses to see what your professor has posted. Learn how to use Blackboard. Get help if you need it!

4. Schedule time to work on your course every day. You will need to dedicate time every week for working at your computer. Try to schedule a certain amount of time every week to work on course material, complete assignments,take exams and study. 5. Find a private space to study.Find a private place to study without distractions. The online portion of your course should be treated as seriously as you treat any on campus course. 6. Speak up if you have problems.Your professor is not a mind reader! You should contact your professor immediately if you are having trouble in your course. Do not wait until it is too late for them to help you.
