IA4SI  tools  (under  development)

•  More  than  an  online  quesBonnaire:  as  you  enter  enough  data  about  you  project  you  will  see  a  short  report  about  your  expected  impacts

•  You  will  visualize  here  also  the  opinions  of  your  users  about  the  expected  impacts  of  the  tools  they  are  using/tesBng

•  A  simple  online  quesBonnaire  for  you  direct  users

•  They  will  be  asked  to  express  their  opinion  on  the  experiences  or  expected  impact  of  using  your  outputs

•  European  ciBzens  will  be  invited  to  express  their  opinion  on  your  project  outputs  by  voBng.

•  This  tool  will  allow  you  to  present  your  project  to  a  wider  audience  and  to  exchange  ideas  with  IA4Si  and  other  CAPs  projects

We  need  you  input!

•  3  workshops:  –  A  first  draU  of  the  IA4Si  methodology  and  of  SAT  and  UDGI  will  be

presented  for  you  to  gather  your  feedback  –  A  dedicated  workshop  will  be  organised  for  presenBng  you  a  preliminary

release  of  the  CEP  –  The  preliminary  results  of  the  impact  assessment  will  be  presented  and

discussed  with  you  before  submiXng  the  deliverables  to  the  EC

•  We  can  use    our  LinkedIn  group  for  sharing  ideas  about  the  methodology  on  a  regular  basis

•  We  will  organise  webinars  for  supporBng  you  in  using  the  tools:  this  will  be  also  good  opportuniBes  for  discussing  the  features  of  the  tools  and  improve  them  thanks  with  your  feedback

More  collabora3on  opportuni3es

•  Make  synergic  IA4SI  CEP  with  your  pla^orms:  you  can  use  CEP  for  engaging  more  users  and  we  it  will  be  very  helpful  if  you  can  give  visibility  to  CEP

•  Exchange  info  on  your  internal  monitoring  and  evaluaBon  systems  in  order  to  make  IA4SI  methodology  as  coherent  as  possible  with  your  systems  and  vice  versa

•  Research  collaboraBon  on  new  models  of  value  definiBon,  behind  GDP  indicators  and  assessment  of  intangibles

IA4SI  expected  impacts

•  Impact  on  knowledge  creaBon  and  sharing  (IA4SI  methodology,  CAP  assessment,  etc.)

•  CAPs  projects  more  aware  of  their  impacts  and  using  the  IA4SI  methodology  (or  part  of  it)  in  their  every  day  work  (impact  on  working  rouBnes?  On  management  effecBveness?  Increase  accountability?)

•  Foster  the  use  of  impact  assessment  methodologies  in  future  projects

•  Make  EU  ciBzens  aware  of  CAPs  and  DSI  and  engage  them  in  “assessing”  their  outputs  (increase  transparency?  Enlarge  the  number  of  people  that  knows  of  DSI?)

“Cost  Benefit  Analysis   is   applied   social   science  and   this   is  not   an   exact   discipline.   It   is   largely   based   on  approximaBons,   working   hypotheses   and   shortcuts  because   of   lack   of   data   or   because   of   constraints   on   the  resources  of  evaluators.  It  needs  intuiBon  and  not  just  data  crunching  and  should  be  based  on  the  right   incenBves  for  the  evaluators  to  do  their  job  in  the  most  independent  and  honest   environment.   Establishing   this   environment   is  largely  a  mafer  of   insBtuBonal  building,   local  culture  and  transparency.”    (EC   -‐   DG   Regional   Policy   -‐   Guide   to   Cost-‐Benefit   Analysis   of   investment   projects,   Final   Report  SubmiDed  by  TRT  TrasporF  e  Territorio  and  CSIL  Centre  for  Industrial  Studies,  2008)
