Introduction

How many of you purchase school supplies that you never use or throw away?

Enactus strives to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people through student leadership

Decrease large amounts of waste on campus and to raise awareness

Plan and Next Steps

Establish new recycling bins for used spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, and printer cartridges on campus

3 bins installed prior to the spring 2015 semester Student Services Building The McDermott Library Jindal School of Management

Staples will donate $2 towards a brand new notebook New notebooks will be passed out to students during Welcome Week

Staples will give back a refund of $3 for each printer cartridge This refund will go toward a savings fund for future recycling bins or new

recycling programs

The charity, Writing Instrument Brigade, will send shipping labels to bag up the pens, pencils, and highlighters to recycle into new plastic recycling containers

Students will have more options to participate in the campus wide effort to be “green”

Enactus membership will grow due to more visibility and environmental leadership on campus

The program has room for expansion into other recycling efforts and student volunteers will continuously search for new projects
