According to the latest updates, there are currently 129 migrants in the country, distributed as follows: 50 in the ReceptionCentre (TRC) Tabanovce, 34 in TRC Gevgelija, 14 in the Vizbegovo Asylum Center, 16 in the Reception Center forForeigners in Gazi Baba and 15 in the Safe House.

FIELD WORK OF THE FIVE MOBILE TEAMS FOR

IDENTIFICATION OF VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING  

With the work of five mobile teams for identification of vulnerablecategories including victims of human trafficking in Skopje, Kumanovo,Tetovo, Bitola and Gevgelija, composed of social workers, lawenforcement officers and civil society organizations by the end of August2018 the number of identified victims of trafficking has increased foralmost four (4) times in comparison to whole 2017.

It’sspecifically designed to support volunteergroups, local authorities, companies,associations, groups, indeed, anyone ofgoodwill who is concerned about thehostile public discourse against migrants.

IOM X is the International Organizationfor Migration’s (IOM) innovativecampaign to encourage safe migration andpublic action to stop human traffickingand exploitation. The campaign leveragesthe power and popularity of media andtechnology to inspire young people andtheir communities to act against humantrafficking, which is the buying and sellingof people for the purpose of exploitation.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TO MIGRANTS

During August 2018 the number of medical assistances in the TransitReception Centers (TRC) increased to 309 in comparison to 183 in July,making the total of 1,314 medical assistances for the period January –August 2018.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Migration Data Portal aims to serve asa unique access point to timely,comprehensive migration statistics andreliable information about migration dataglobally.

Geneva – IOM, the UN Migration Agency,reports that 68,098 migrants and refugeesentered Europe by sea in 2018 through 29August, with 28,579 to Spain, the leadingdestination this year. This compares with124,015 (172,362 for the entire year) arrivalsacross the region through the same periodlast year.
