    For 23 years Columbia College has offered leadership programs for girls whoshow interest and ability in leadership, academic achievement and community in-

    volvement.Emerging Leaders, June 9-13, is designed to provide rising 9th grade girls with theskills necessary for academic and leadership success in high school. Participants learnto set and meet their goals for academic, social and service through interactive andfun leadership training. This program is held on the Columbia College campus. Tui-

    tion is $500. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.Applications are available through Connie Johnson, IMS Guidance Director, at

    The IMS March College of the Month is Furman University

    Furman University is one of the nation's premier undergraduate liberal arts colleges. The university offersoutstanding academics, opportunities for a broad range of talented students with a passion for learning, arobust visual and performing arts program and NCAA Division I athletics. Our campus is nationallyacclaimed for its beauty and the residential student body is the ideal size to enhance scholarly activity,personal growth and leadership development.
