The first electric vehicle from a mainstream manufacturer, the i-MiEV is leading the charge towards a green and

sustainable future for Irish motoring.

With the performance, equipment levels and safety features of the i-MiEV on a par with a petrol or diesel equivalent,

you have to look closely to see the difference.

An electric motor, inverter and recharger replace the conventional engine and compact lithium-ion batteries replace

the fuel tank to deliver zero tailpipe emissions. The result is a car with a top speed of 130km per hour and an

achievable range of 150km which can be charged at home in 6 hours or as little as 25 minutes with a quick charge.

Drive clean and green (ZERO Co2)

You won’t find an exhaust pipe on the i-MiEV. That’s because it’s 100% electric, so there are zero emissions

released into the atmosphere. And that’s good news for the environment as zero emissions means zero Co2. It also

means no more trips to the petrol pump. You just charge and go. It’s the greenest way to drive.

Powerful performance (180 N.m)

Although the i-MiEV produces zero emissions, there is no compromise in performance. The lightweight, efficient

permanent magnet synchronous motor delivers strong and linear acceleration with a maximum 180N-m of torque,

which is equivalent to a 2-litre vehicle. And thanks to the low centre of gravity, the i-MiEV has great handling.

Hear that? It’s the sound of peace and quiet delivered by the silent motor in the i-MiEV. Best of all, the cabin

remains quiet during acceleration, so you and your passengers are assured a pleasurable journey in any driving

condition.

The advanced i-MiEV Operating System

By carrying out tasks such as monitoring battery status and energy

recovery by the regenerative brake function, and ensuring smooth and

powerful driving performance, the i-MiEV operating system enhances

safety, comfort and energy efficiency.

Intuitive high-tech instrument panel

All you need to know is right in front of your eyes on the dashboard.

There is an easy to read visual display showing power consumption,

energy level and a cruising range indicator which estimates the

achievable range based on driver behaviour.

Meanwhile the shift selector lets you choose between the D position

for city driving, which allows for standard regenerative braking power,

the B position for downhill driving, which provides increased

regenerative braking power, and the C position for open road cruising.

With i-MiEV, you’re in control.

Two ways to charge

At home or around town, charging the i-MiEV is as simple as plugging

in. The batteries can be filled in 6 hours with a household or on-street

charging system, while a quick charge will provide an 80% fill in just

25 minutes.

High capacity lithium-ion batteries ensure an impressive range

Efficiency best describes the i-MiEV’s high density lithium-ion

batteries, which offer an impressive achievable range of 150km per

charge. The battery pack is located securely under the floor of the

vehicle.
