From Your Associational Missionary . . .

What a great Toy Store! We witnessed to 180 families, in most families we had two persons who came to

shop. Ten persons made professions of faith! Praise the Lord. We serviced the most children we ever have - 555.

Thanks to all of you who gave VBS offerings, individual gifts of monies and toys, conducted toy drives, volunteered

at the toy store sites and who assisted with the golf tournament. I’m like one of our Toy Store workers who said “I

work in the Toy Store each year because it helps me in my heart be ready for Christmas!” Christmas is a season of

giving and each of you, in your own way, has helped to give Christ and hope in our 2016 Toy Store. Merry Christmas

and Thank you. Our Toy Store Celebration (covered dish event) is on January 20, 2016 at 7 pm at Calvary Baptist

Church in Shallotte. You are invited! I hope to see you there.

We hit the ground running in 2017. Happy New Year. Four events spring to mind.

These events should get you up and running in the new year!

Remember every trained worker is pleasing to the Lord! 2017 is a year that by all means at hand we can fol-

low His example; We can step into the world around us; We must cultivate relationships; and We will create opportu-

nities to demonstrate the love of Christ. We can win them to Christ! - Brother Jeff

We are so grateful to each church and association who participat-ed in the Red Box ministry to incarcerated women in NC prisons this year. We were blessed once again with an abundance of items. We were able to provide red boxes to inmates at NCCIW, RCCW, SCCW, ECCW, and to a Youth Detention/Development Center. Your generosity is greatly appreciat-ed. Here are just a couple of thank you notes we received from the prisons.

Notes from two inmates who received a red box:

I would like to show my appreciation for the “Red Box”. I lost my mother and my husband 2 months apart so this holiday season is going to be an emotional one. For someone to take the time out to remember the inmates here in North Carolina is the greatest gift I have received all year! So, I thank each and everyone one of you. Please pray for me and my family this holiday season.

I am an inmate at the women’s prison here in Raleigh, NC. I have just received the red Christmas box that you sent for us and I can’t tell you how much it means to me. I don’t have any family on the outside so I don’t get canteen and such like most people so this box has helped me more that you could possibly know. In a place like this it’s hard to see the good in people and remember that there are still good people in the world. Thank you for reminding me. This is my second year being incarcerated and also my last. Last year I was in county jail and they don’t do much for Christmas so this was definitely a surprise. It made it actually feel a little bit like the holiday season. I don’t know if you get many “thank you’s” but you definitely deserve them. I just wanted to let you all know that your efforts are ap-preciated and that they made a significant difference in my life this holiday season. I hope that when I get out maybe I can join WMU or at least in some way support the cause. May-be then I can help to continue making changes in people’s lives as well. Thank you again. God bless and Happy Holidays.

(Our Association provided shampoos for this year’s Red Box Ministry. Thank you to all the churches who participated.)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The Columbus Baptist Associa-tion would like to thank you for your GENEROUS donation of supplies, money, gift cards, etc. Thank you for being so willing to share with us. It was a blessing! It was so thoughtful of you and we have distributed every-thing to the victims of Hurricane Matthew. So many were blessed from your generosity.

Continue to pray for our friends and neighbors that are hurting. We will overcome and be stronger than ever. God is in control and has brought so many blessings from this trial. We thank you again for your help and love.
