“The only way to go great
great work is to love what you
do. If you haven’t fount it
yet, keep looking.
Don’t settle.”
- Steve Jobs
I have always been about Positive Mental Attitude, and with that, ANYONE can OVERCOME
ANYTHING! Your MIND is a POWERFUL TOOL! I feel that we as a team need to inspir e
the next generation of success stories waiting to happen by sharing our own! With hard work, passion
and the right attitude, anything is possible! It's easy to give up and hard to push forward. When
anything went wrong in my life, my mom would say you have 5 minutes to feel sorry for yourself and
then move on, only you can make the changes you want to see in life. This seemed really harsh, but
as I grew, I understood it more and more and now find myself saying the same thing to my daughter.
So I ask that you share your story about your personal success. How you started and one of your fondest
memories, one of your most heart-felt memories and if you would be willing to share - the moment when you
were ready to give up, and what made you push forward, what was that inspiration? We all have these
stories, but it is not shared enough, which is why I am publishing this magazine.
Welcome to our journey…

Michelle Phillips-Trademan, owner of GAWI Entertainment found her passion through a dare while in high school. She was dared to go to a festival as a mime, it went so well that she was asked if she did private parties, she said “Sure”, not knowing what she was talking about. She ended up performing at a private party and was paid for it! As Michelle booked more and more parties, she decided it was best to get an agent, so she can do what she does best, create art on faces and bodies! Michelle has attended many “JAMM” sessions, which is where she met Margaret, and they
have teamed up, then became great friends! Margaret expressed that she thought it was a great fit! Michelle is a photographer as well as a face and body painter. This year the dynamic duo traveled to Georgia for a competition and won an award for Living Art America 2013. It took 6 hours to paint the model before the competition, then the models hit the runway and a professional jury evaluated the entries in two categories. The first category is Emerging Artist and the 2nd is Professional Artist in this world -class competition. CNN covered this event as well as the Associated Press, blogs and social media. There were 40 artist from 9 countries and 14 states in this competition. Living Art America was able to make a $10,000 contribution to Angel Flight Soars, award $12,500 in artist grants and contribute $7,500 toward the

Chelko Endowment at the Savanah College of Art and Design. Before this competition, Michelle was terrified when they were told you have 6 hours to complete the body art, Margaret encouraged her by saying “You will get in the zone and everything will be ok”. Michelle expressed that you become very protective of your models, “They are putting themselves out there,”. After standing for 6 hours while being painted, the models job is not over! They then have to be showcased and work the entire event. They are there from 10am until midnight. The promotional part of the event is to raise funds as the art entertainment. Margaret explained “When you are painting a human canvas, you have to remember they do get tired, hungry and have to use the restroom, I have to remember this, because I get into a groove and forget they are human.” “And they have to move too, otherwise they will pass out.” She continued “Human canvases create 3D and 4D Live Art. . When you see the art come to life, you forget it’s on a body. “ Margaret Mauthe has been an artist for as long as she can remember. She enjoys painting on just about anything! While Michelle prefers painting on faces and bodies. They both use
Paradise make-up, this is a professional grade and water based that is easy to work with, goes on like make-up rather than paint. The models feel much more comfortable with no cracking effects. Both Margaret and Michelle make their living as face/body artists. “When you have representation, you have more creditability” said Michelle. They both have agents that book them for small birthday parties to large corporate events.
Margaret had a shop at navy Pier, where she met her husband, Mike, he introduced her to face painting and body art. He is a balloon artist and magician, they work gigs together as Team M&M. Together that have traveled all around the world touring colleges. They were hired by the military to entertain the families around the world, Europe, and Asia. They love working with their agent, it gives them piece of mind because they know that end of the business is
taken care of and they can do what they love. The models play a big part in the inspiration. Margaret and Michelle sketch out a design and get to work on the model(s). Watching this come to life is absolutely amazing! I spent about 6 hours with Margaret, Michelle, models Claudine and Carley watching this
transformation of models to moveable art. Using the body as a canvas is very interesting, your focus is not the body itself, but the beautiful work of art. This was the first time
that Margaret and Michelle used two models to create once piece of art, as you can see, the two bodies came together side by side seamlessly. Carley has the moon on her back, and with her red hair, she pulled off a nice contrast, while Claudine has the sun.
Michelle shared with us that she has a great opportunity. She is leaving in January to do face painting on a Cruise Line! She will spend 7 days at sea doing what she loves! There are not many
people that can say that! Vacation and work all at the same time! It’s very interesting to watch as she reflected on her career, she said that if it was not for her husband, Orin’s support and encouragement, she would have never been able to follow her dreams and do what she loves! Margaret admits she is addicted to coffee, last November she was without coffee for several days! She went on a cruise for a Magic Conference with her husband, Mike who is a balloon artist. The ship lost power for several days. Although she was offered warm soda, it just wasn’t coffee! She even tried to get her caffeine by taking tea bag and water, putting them out on her veranda hoping to make hot tea from the sun.
Models Claudine and Carley had such an great experience they can’t wait to be a part of this again!

TO THIS!
Michelle said “Margaret is always willing to share secrets with me” Margaret was excited to share with us that she was asked to teach at the convention in Wisconsin this coming March 2014. She said “Every year there is a theme, this year is Rock ‘n Roll Zombie.”
“Naked Vegas is breaking the ice for the nude art” said Michelle.
Margaret just published her first book… Tiger Lily Art Book available at amazon. Tiger Lily is flavored with marketing tips mainly directed at face painters, laid out in detail with step by step complex designs achievable for beginners and seasoned professionals. Full body art painting in the picture to the right, including the jeans!
MODEL BIO’s Model Claudine Tambuatco is a Chicago based commercial print and fine art model. She has worked with a variety of clients including Harley-Davidson, Steve Harvey, Ziploc, CITGO, and Jockey. Claudine is also recognized for her philanthropic work for local charitable organizations, including the Shedd Aquarium and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Model Carley Trout has a lifelong passion for creating beautiful pieces as a visual artist, performer, and model. She is always looking for ways to push the boundaries of creative design.
There are competitions through out the year that Margaret and Michelle partner on. Depending on the rules of the competition, determines what role each of them will play creating live art !
Follow your dreams and your passion because anything is possible! When you have a passion for what you do, you will
never work a day in your li fe!

Denied Business
Credit? According to recent reports, as many as one third of applications for
business loans are denied. If you find yourself as part of that group, there
are some things you can do to help the situation.
The first thing you need to do is try to determine where the problem is. Possible areas of concern may include: - Your business profits. Does your business have a healthy profit margin? Improving your profits by reducing and trimming down the operational excess and unnecessary business spending can help improve profits and boost your chances of getting approved. - Your business assets and liabilities. If your balance sheet is out of whack, most lenders will run the other way. If your business is already heavy on debt, then this will be an area of concern that you’ll want to address. - Your payment histories and business credit profile. Obviously, how you are paying your existing obligations will play a role in your approval or denial for credit. If you’ve been denied business credit recently, check your Paydex and other payment performance data and make adjustments as necessary. Most payment experience data is only reported for 2 to 3 years (depending on the credit bureau), so if you’ve made a mistake or hit a bump or two in the road, don’t let it worry you. Just keep the positive payment history building, and make sure what is being reported to date is accurate. - Your bank ratings. If your business bank account balances are habitually low, this can actually rule you out for certain types of business credit. Try to maintain $10,000 or more in your business bank accounts to avoid trouble. The bottom line, if you’ve been denied credit, is that there is something about your business that makes it appear to be a bad risk. Your job is to analyze and understand your business credit report and business finances, determine where the problem is, and take the necessary steps to correct your course. Sometimes the lack of history or data on your business will be a key factor in a credit denial. This is something that can be easily remedied by taking careful steps to shape your business’s financial picture and credit profile. About the Author

Going to the Chapel of Love
Talk about a quickie marriage these days and the reaction is much different than it used to be. In the old days, when people got married in a hurry it
would have most likely been considered a shotgun wedding. The majority of people plan their
weddings far in advance so that they can find the right church, a reception hall and make out
their guest list. The bride devotes a lot of time arranging for the ideal wedding date and allows plenty of time to collect all the details she needs to complete her anticipated day. She will
spend months searching for that perfect wedding gown and makes sure that the women and
men in the wedding party are dressed to perfection for this one occasion. The bride's parents spend a small fortune just to make their daughter's wedding day a memorable event. They are
willing to spend their life savings, because anything that makes their little princess happy is
worth the money. The couple ends up having several kids, or not, and some do live happily
ever after or at least until one of them dies. End of story.
Today, however, many people have multiple weddings and divorces before they hit old age and
spend the rest of their days a in rocker pondering why they got married in the first place. Some feel that living together without the aid of matrimony works better for all
concerned. For some, a simple piece of paper can't possibly make that much of a difference;
but still, most brides want a huge wedding with frills and all the trimmings that come with
it. Usually when spring has sprung many couples are taking their first, or second or maybe even their third plunge down the aisle. This can be a costly affair. Couples who have
already taken their stroll down the aisle often opt for an easier way to get hitched. They'll
marry in front of the Justice of the Peace. Still, others decide to move in together and live as
man and wife without the pomp and circumstance. They feel another trip down the aisle isn't necessary as long as they love each other.
Mike and Marlene decided to take the plunge after living together for six years. Marlene worked as a dental assistant and made good money, but didn't have any health insurance which
concerned her a great deal. Mike had finally found his dream job and had great health
insurance benefits. Both had been married and didn't find it necessary to get married again;
however, without the proper health insurance Marlene worried that as she got older she might end up sick and wouldn't be able to get the health care she might need. They decided that
getting married was the answer. After all, Mike had excellent health insurance that even
included care for their dog Fifi. Oh, they loved each other and had been talking about getting married someday and that day had finally come. The couple had been living in Las Vegas
where they shared a lovely town home with their brand new puppy Fifi. Their beloved pet was
their child and traveled along everywhere they went.
The morning of the wedding, Marlene and Mike put on their best clothes for the occasion. Marlene wore a pair of
cotton khaki colored Capri's and a white linen blazer. Mike
decided to temporarily trade in his blue jeans for some dressy
slacks. They had been told that in order to get married they both needed to have the exact dates of their previous
divorces. Marlene had been married twice and Mike had been
married once. Once they had obtained the necessary documents from their divorces, they hopped on the motorcycle
without Fifi, who would stay home this day. On the way Mike
stopped at the local floral shop and picked out a lovely bouquet of spring flowers and handed
them to Marlene who gave him a loving smile in return.
They pulled up to a drive-in chapel, and since they had both lived through weddings
before, knew it would be the most inexpensive and quickest way to get married. A short, stocky Minister performed the seven minute ceremony with a provided witness who just
happened to be standing inside the drive-in chapel at the time. After the couple exchanged
vows and produced a pair of plain gold wedding bands the ceremony ended. They then drove
off and went to a drive-in movie theater called "In-Out" where they spent the first part of their honeymoon watching the movie Wild Hogs.
After spending the evening snuggled together eating their popcorn, they went home. Mike
took off his wedding ring and put it on a tray on top of his dresser. He hated wearing jewelry. Marlene kept her ring on her finger as a token of Mike's love for her. A few days
later, while cleaning up his dresser Mike noticed that his wedding ring was missing from the
tray where he had left it. He questioned Marlene and after searching for hours they gave up. It just so happens, that Fifi had been acting funny and tossed up her dinner, twice. They
thought that she had gotten ill by eating some bad food. Worrying that it could be something
else, they rushed Fifi to the vet and after an examination, the vet suggested that she might
have caught a virus. The Vet told the couple to take her home and watch her stools for a few days to make sure there was no blood in
it. Mike and Marlene continued watching and checking Fifi'f stools
for the next 24 hours. Suddenly, Marlene noticed something shiny on the ground and realized that the object was Mike's wedding
ring. With a squeal of delight Marlene called for Mike. They found
the missing wedding band. Fifi's virus had nothing to do with the
missing ring. It was just good timing. It was also good for Mike and Marlene to know that Fifi had good health insurance. And they
all lived happily ever after.

’Twas the night after
Christmas, and all through
the house, bills were piling
up from the kids to my
spouse. The mail was
stashed on top the desk in our lab, in the hopes
that St. Nicholas might pick up the tab. The
children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of money problems danced
through our heads. And me in a kerchief, and
him in his cap, knew we had to settle for less
this season to wrap.
When out on the lawn there suddenly arose such
a clatter, I sprang from my chair to see what was
the matter. Away to the window I flew like a
flash, tore open the shutters and prayed for some
cash. The moon on the
breast of the new-fallen
snow, gave a luster of
midday to objects
below. When what to my
wondering eyes should
appear but the sight of a
mail truck carrying something near. With a
little old driver, not so lively or quick, I knew at
this moment it couldn't be St. Nick. More rapid
than eagles his coursers they came, and he
whistled, and shouted and called out each
name. Of all the malls I'd been in the past, now
here are the bills from every store at last.
Now Wall Mart! Now Penney's! Now Macy’s
and Target! On Carson’s! On Sears! On
Nordstrom's and Saks! To the top of the stairs
to the top of the mall! Now dash away! Dash
away! Dash away, all! I tried to wipe my eyes
and before the wild hurricane could fly, when
you meet with an
obstacle, you mourn and
you cry. So up to the
office computer I flew,
looking for some money
before my next payment
was due.
And then, in a twinkling I heard on the boob-
tube of an after holiday sale, down in the
loop. As I searched for my credit cards and was
turning around, I saw hubby shaking his head
and beginning to shout. He
was dressed, though not in fur,
from his head to his foot, and
his clothes were a bit tarnished
with ashes and soot. But it
wasn't a bundle of toys he had
flung on his back, he'd been shoveling snow and
damned near broke his neck. His eyes, how they
twinkled like icicles, his dimples not so
merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like
a cherry! His drooling little mouth was drawn
up like a bow, and the beard on his chin was as
white as the snow.
The stump of a cigar he
held tight between his
teeth, and the smoke, it
encircled his head like a
burning wreath. He had a
broad face and a little
round belly, that shook
when he was madder than
a bowl like a bowl filled with jelly. He was
chubby and a bit plump my grumpy old elf, and I
cried when I saw him in spite of myself. He was
cutting up my credit cards with a wink of his eye
and a twist of his head. If I'd spend another
dime, I knew he'd be upset! He spoke not
another word, but went straight to his work, after
burning the plastic I so dearly loved, the
jerk! And laying his finger aside of his nose, he
gave a swift kick to the ashes that arose. He
sprang to his feet and off to his car, away he
went, I can still hear him mutter, she won't get
another cent. As he drove out of sight I made up
my mind, my New Years resolution would be of
a different kind. I'd search for a way to extend
my credit, without buying all the frills, then
perhaps next Christmas I’d be able to pay off my
bills.
