The entire family will enjoy a day exploring
Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park where they
can see a live volcano, scalded deserts,
rainforests, vent holes and walk through a
lava tube. There are also 150 miles of hiking
trails and a museum. Most waterfalls can be
found on the slopes of the Mauna Kea volcano
close to Hilo and on the Hāmākua coast. Plus,
farmers markets are a little-known gems of
the Island of Hawai‘i. They are spread over the
whole island and allow visitors to meet locals,
shop for arts and crafts and enjoy edible
treasures. Don’t leave Hawai‘i without seeing
one of the famous black sand beaches.
