This week comes with an important message from Deacon Santos & Mrs. Isabel Arroyo, our Coordinators of the Religious Education program, for those who have not seen it on our website.

“Thank you for your patience during this very difficult time. We are thankful that the REP families have had very few loses. As many of you already know we were on hold with respect to when your children would receive sacraments and return to class. We have been informed that we can proceed with First Holy Communion and Confirmation in small groups that are consistent with COVID 19 social distancing guidelines. To that end we will be reaching out to parents via email and phone calls in alphabetical order according to last name to schedule dates. We will also post the first initials of the families that will be included in our outreach. Please do call the parish unless, your initials are in the identified group and you were not contacted. We have a very large program and will make every effort to reach everyone in a timely manner. Thank you once again for your understanding and patience.”

I would like to thank Mrs. Arroyo and Deacon Santos for taking the time to update the parents on the latest developments in regards to the reception of the Sacraments as well as the program for the coming year. We will be notifying soon those students of St. Lucy’s who are going to receive the Sacraments as well.

I know many have been concerned with the reception of Holy Communion. Just to reassure everyone that we are following Archdiocesan Guidelines, Communion on the tongue is still permitted, but Communion in the hand is encouraged during this time. Also it should be mentioned that the Church asks us to receive Holy Communion at least once a year during the Easter Season.

Esta semana viene con un mensaje importante del Diácono Santos y la Sra. Isabel Arroyo, nuestros Coordinadores del programa de Educación Religiosa, para aquellos que no lo han visto en nuestro sitio web. “Gracias por su paciencia durante este momento tan difícil. Estamos agradecidos de que las familias REP hayan tenido muy pocas pérdidas. Como muchos de ustedes ya saben, estábamos en espera con respecto a cuándo sus hijos recibirían los sacramentos y regresarían a clase. Se nos ha informado que podemos proceder con la Primera Comunión y la Confirmación en pequeños grupos que sean consistentes con las pautas de distanciamiento social de COVID 19. Con ese fin, nos comunicaremos con los padres por correo electrónico y llamadas telefónicas en orden alfabético de acuerdo con el apellido para programar las fechas. También publi-caremos las primeras iniciales de las familias que se incluirán en nuestro alcance. Llame a la parroquia a menos que sus iniciales estén en el grupo identificado y no se lo haya contactado. Tenemos un programa muy amplio y haremos todo lo posible para llegar a todos de manera oportuna. Gracias una vez más por su comprensión y paciencia. Me gustaría agradecer a la Sra. Arroyo y al Diácono Santos por tomarse el tiempo para actualizar a los padres sobre los últimos desarrollos en lo que respecta a la recepción de los Sacramentos, así como el programa para el próximo año.
