Iredell County Toy Store for Jesus Results

Number of families assisted: 454 Number of children who received NEW toys: 1,240

SALVATION decisions: 69 Rededication decisions: 8

Thank you for supporting this ministry that began in 1994! Over 37,000 children have received new toys since 1994, but more importantly, over 2,900 decisions have been made for Him! Toys are used to share His Eternal Message. Please pray for these families, especially those who made decisions for Christ. Also, remember that Toy Store for Jesus is year-round. Toys, children’s and teen appropriate Bibles, and winter-wear (coats, gloves, scarves, knit caps) may be purchased as stores begin selling items at discounted prices.

LifeWay Pastors—Pastoral Care Line 1-844-472-7867 Confidentiality ensured by the Family Health Center.

West Lumberton Mission Trip Twenty-three (23) team members from 11 SYBA churches went to West Lumberton on Dec. 19-20th to assist with a Toy Store for Jesus. There were 233 families who were devastated by Hurricane Matthew who were invited to participate in the Lumberton Toy Store.

800+ Children received toys. 3 Salvation decisions were made.

15 Rededicated their lives to Christ!

Birthday Bags

Will your class or group help? When parents shopping at the Baptist Center Food Pantry have children (ages 1 to 12) celebrating an upcoming birthday, they are able to choose a birthday bag along with a toy (leftover from our Toy Store for Jesus). The parents are thrilled to get these “extra” blessings and sometimes make the comment about not knowing what they were going to do if not for the special birthday bags and toys.

157 birthday bags were shared in 2016. I would like for 12 DIFFERENT SYBA GROUPS/CLASSES to be responsible for providing 12 birthday bags one month during 2017. Please contact Mary Jane Hoover at [email protected] or 704-873-4372 x3 to make a commitment or for additional information.

Birthday bags contain:

A box of cake mix & can of frosting

A box of candles

Paper party supplies (plates and napkins)

Box of spaghetti noodles & jar of spaghetti sauce Optional items may include Parmesan cheese, Kool-Aid drink mix, and additional party supplies or favors.

Adopt-a-School We have multiple schools in our area that have not been adopted by an SYBA church. It is never too late to adopt a school. The ministry purpose is to encourage the faculty/staff. The encouragement can be in the form of cards, small gifts for classrooms, a special appreciation meal, etc. We would especially love for a church to adopt South Iredell High School. Why? As of last semester, they begin a Christian club with the help of a Campus Crusade for Christ representative. The club desires to have outreach to the student body, but they need minimal funds. An adopted church could help meet this need. An outreach last semester involved bowling with frozen turkeys which resulted in three students accepting Christ as Lord and Savior! Who knew God would use frozen turkeys to bring souls to Him! If your church is interested in adopting, contact Mary Jane Hoover at 704-873-4372 x3 or [email protected].

Campus Impact Club SYBA is a part of this Christian club for Mitchell College students. Since the Club meets each Tuesday from 12:20 to 1:20 p.m., we provide lunch for the members. If you have a church group willing to provide a light lunch for 20-25 people one Tuesday, please contact Carol at 704-873-4372 x7 or email her at [email protected].
