c. Evidence suggests that people cannot do anything under hypnosis that they cannot do normally; it seems to be a state of increased motivation

Is Hypnosis an Altered State of Consciousness?

2.Divided Consciousness Theory: Hypnosis is a special state of dissociated (divided) consciousness (Hilgard, 1986, 1992).
