What is hypertension? • Hypertension is the condition
in which the pressure of blood in your arteries is dangerously high.
History/Origin
•Descriptions of the disease first came from Thomas Young in 1808
Signs/Symptoms
• Usually no symptoms present, the disease can cause other diseases such as stroke and heart attack. Sometimes there are headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath and blurred vision.
• Ask your doctor how long the symptoms should occur before you should be concerned.
Factors
• Genetics play a part• Environmental and lifestyle:
smoking, obesity, and if a large portion of your diet consists of sodium.
Treatment/Managing the problem
For treatment, you can;• Exercise regularly• Taking frequent medication•Recommended weight loss•Get support
