Process description

A hydraulic press is equipped with a two-part tooling with 2 axial horizontal cylinders mounted on each pipe end and a counteracting cylinder.The pipe piece is inserted in the lower tooling and then the tooling is closed.

The pipe ends are stuffed by the axial punches and the pipe piece is filled with a pressure medium.

The forming liquid generates pressure and expands the pipe piece to the tooling shape. At the same time the horizontal cylinders are swaging the pipe piece to push the material. The inner pressure curve is adjusted according to the swaging process.

The counteracting cylinder influences the forming of the extrusion. Finally the tooling is opened and the T-Fitting is ejected.
