HYDE PARK • Hyde Park is London’s most famous central park. • You can ride a horse, fishing in allocated places, go boating on the Serpentine or
get yourself heard at Speaker’s Corner. • Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in west London. • The park was the site of the Great Exhibition of 1851, for which the Crystal Palace
was designed by Joseph Paxton. • Hyde park has been the venue for some famous rock concerts. • London’s Hyde Park is one of the greatest city parks in the world. • Covering 142 hectares and with over 4 000 trees, a large lake, a meadow and
ornamental flower gardens, there’s a good chance you’ll forget you are right in the centre of London.
• There are pitches for team games, tennis courts, tracks for horse riding and a spectacular children’s playground.
ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL• St Paul’s Cathedral is the masterpiece of architect Sir Christopher Wren. • It was completed in 1710, though the first service was held here in 1697. • St Paul’s Cathedral is a church of England cathedral. • St Paul’s Cathedral seen today- the fourth, was built between 1675 and
1711 by Sir Christopher Wren. • The dome of St Paul’s Cathedral is the second biggest dome in the world,
after St Peter’s in Rome.
