Parents/guardians will...
● Establish routines and expectations - set a planned schedule for each school day.
● Establish a good physical place for the learning area and help eliminate any possible distractions.
● Read the daily Wakelet (K-4) or Google Classroom (5-8) and other communication from teachers.
● Check Seesaw (Grades K-4) and Google Classroom (5-8) to ensure all required work is completed.
● Contact Holly/Jeanne and the teacher if a student will be absent from distance learning for the day.
● Contact the child's teacher with any questions or concerns. Encourage children to attend teacher online office hours if needed.
● Expect children to read each day and ask about what they are reading.● Encourage physical activity and exercise.● Begin each day and end each day with a check-in. Go through the
Wakelet/Google Classroom and check that each task has been accomplished at the end of each school day
In the morning, you might ask:
● What work do you need to complete today? (Work, quizzes, projects, tests)
● How will you spend your time?● Do you know how to access everything that you will need?● What can I do to help?
At the end of the day, you might ask:
● Did you finish everything your teacher assigned?● What can I still help you with? Is there any follow-up we need to do with
your teacher?● What did you discover? What was hard? What was easy?
