The Victorian Government is removing two dangerous and congested level crossings along the Hurstbridge Line, building a brand new Rosanna Station, and duplicating the single section of track between Heidelberg and Rosanna. This will make communities safer and get commuters in Melbourne’s north east home sooner.

Over 44 days, large scale construction will be carried out to renovate the Hurstbridge Line and finish the job ahead of schedule.

In Rosanna, we’ll be working 24-hours a day building the new station and rail bridge over Lower Plenty Road.

In Heidelberg, we’ve installed the second bridge over Burgundy Street and will be finishing up the Darebin Street underpass and duplicating the track between Heidelberg and Rosanna stations.

In Alphington, we’re going to excavate 30,000 cubic metres of soil and rock to allow the rail line to be lowered and trains to run beneath Grange Road.

By Monday 30 April 2018, the level crossings at Lower Plenty Road and Grange Road will be gone, there will be a new Rosanna Station, and trains will be running on duplicated tracks between Heidelberg and Rosanna stations.
