What’s in a Name?
• 39 mph= Tropical Storm= get named
• 1950s- used to be named by latitude and longitude
Why’d they change?
• Now- countries submit names, WMO approves them
• 6yr. Cycle− First storm= A, then B, etc.− Skip letters "Q", "U", "X", "Y" and "Z"
Really bad storm names retire
