Hunter Wood 4 th 9 weeks assessment 2014 I have a Traxxas Maximum Destruction electric RC truck. I am changing the gear in my truck because it started making clanking noises whenever I drove it. What happened is that the gear wore out and grinded off some of the teeth that allow it to get in the grooves of the engine gear so it will spin. The black gear (the one that we will be changing) connects to the back tires of the truck and makes the tire spin. After replacing the bad gear the truck will be back to normal and it wont be making any more noises. RC cars and trucks first came out in 1971 and kits were sold to build them. Most early RC cars/trucks came in kits but you could buy them already built. I got my truck as an early birthday gift in March and my dad had an RC truck since he was little and I always liked them but I never had a true RC truck until March of this year. My dad had always had gas trucks and had a couple of problems with it so I got an electric truck. The Plastic Casing Its hard to see but this gear has worn out teeth. Now the gear should be turning and also turning the engine gear. If the paper rips the black gear is to tight.
