The Hunter Protected Personnel Vehicle (PPV) was conceived in response to a wide range of requirements from security force commanders for a multirole protected vehicle for internal security, public order, escort, counter-terrorism and patrol missions.

HUNTER AUTOMOTIVE SPECIFICATION
Armour Protection Specification
The Hunter design incorporates best practices for ballistic and blast protection including a shaped hull to aid in blast deflection and reduction of blast traps.
Passenger CompartmentThe passenger compartment provides ballistic protection to 7.62 x 51 mm NATO Ball and all lesser threats to the vertical surfaces and roof at 90° to the material.
For enhanced body protection, the Hunter PPV can be upgraded to STANAG 4569 Annex A Level 1 (5.56 x 45 mm M193) or Level 2 (7.62 x 39 mm API).
Underbody and Fuel TanksThe foor of the vehicle and the fuel tank provide protection from 2 x DM51 hand grenades.
For enhanced underbody protection, the Hunter PPV can be upgraded to STANAG 4569 Annex B, Level 1 or 2a as an option.
Engine BayThe engine bay provides ballistic protection to NATO Level B6, 7.62 x 51 mm NATO Ball and all lesser threats to include AK47 7.62 x 39 mm Soft Core to the vertical surfaces and hood at 60° to the material.
WheelsAll 5 wheels are fitted with a Hutchinson 50 km runflat system.
Gunports and Patrol HatchThe Hunter PPV is fitted with 6 vision blocks and gunports and a protected patrol hatch can be fitted to enable increased situational awareness.
Window Protection GrillesAll glazings are provided with removable window grilles. The front screen has a fold-down grille to enable normal driving.
