Hungry for Reading: The Results!

Well done to RLH who were the winning class in our Hungry for Reading competition on

Thursday. At 93%, an impressive 27 out of 29 children in Miss Hill’s class had a school meal!

They will be able to order £30 worth of new books for their classroom.

Thank you to all of the parents in FS and KS1 who supported our funding campaign.

Thameside children have had another exciting week at school!

On Tuesday, KS2 took part in a Ready, Steady, Cook event with Chartwells where they

saw Mr Godfrey ‘out cook’ Miss Campbell live on the stage! Ask your child whether they

preferred the Mexican burrito or the Chinese noodles? We have attached the recipes,

for the healthy meals that were prepared, to this newsletter so your children can have a

go at cooking them at home. Thank you to James who ran the event for Chartwells.

Year 6 children are looking forward to Sunday when they travel to Wales for

their residential visit at the RYG Education Centre. Children need to be at school

by 8:45am on Sunday morning. Please ensure cars do not congest around the

turning into Harley Road or the coach will find it very difficult to manoeuvre. We

would like to thank the fantastic staff who are going with Year 6 and we know

that your children will have an amazing time!

Each term the introduction to our PSCHE sessions will provide short focus on one 'key' action to improve personal well-being. These ‘Happiness Keys’ promote Thameside children to: Look Inside, Move Outside, Be Curious, Be Kind, Share More.

This term’s Happiness Key is…

Move Outside! Be Active…step outside…exercise. What could your family do this weekend to Move Outside? Go to the park... Go for a bike ride... Walk the dog... Go Geocaching... Stroll round some woods... Build a den in the garden... Go out in the rain... Dig in mud!
