This second edition will focus on "Humpback Whales: New and Interdisciplinary Approaches to Understand and Promote Conservation of Migratory Species" The motivation behind this congress consist of: - Presenting research on humpback whales in their feeding area, their breeding site and during their migrations. - Facilitating meetings between researchers, students, professionals and amateurs. - Developing observation programs, studies and conservation of humpback whales at local, regional and global scale. - Encouraging scientific studies and conservation efforts of humpback whales The conference goes inline with a project led by the council of Reunion Island, which is part of the inscription of the Indian Ocean migration routes in the UNESCO World Heritage.

CETAMADA Cetamada Association co-organize with the council of Reunion Island, the 2nd edition of Humpback Whale World Congress that will be held at the STELLA MATUTINA Museum, Saint-Leu, Reunion Island A Malagasy organisation, established since 2009, is dedicated to the conservation of marine mammals and their habitat in Madagascar.
