Objectives
INTRO On this semester, we have learned about the human figure. The
human form in art, sculpture and other forms involves a study and appreciation of the beauty of the human body in its presentation. The study involves an appreciation of the body shape, including body postures-sitting, standing and movements -walking, running, dancing etc.
You have already practiced a few poses with the help of a wooden human mannequin, and you have even drawn some figures from your own imagination…Well done!!
But, before the next challenge, we are going to review by watching this video. Click on the link below:

And now…the challenge!! (Work in pairs)
For this activity you will have to draw 2 human figures; a first one whose
gesture you will have to describe to a classmate, and a second one following
your classmate’s description…it is like a matching game!
(Materials: Two sheets of drawing paper, pencil and eraser).
So…let’s learn and practice the vocabulary first.
Repeat word by word after the teacher for a better pronunciation. Here is the list:

Let’s practice! Describe these human figures using the vocabulary
Time to draw! On the first sheet of paper, draw a human figure as shown here. You may choose a dynamic gesture, or a static one, but use measurements and proportions correctly. Don’t show your partner what you are drawing, and don’t try to look at his/her drawing…
Take turns with your partner to describe the human figure you’ve drawn, and to draw your classmate figure by only listening to his/her description. At the end you will show each others drawings to see if they match.
Did you get it right??
