Item 318-15 – Igor Sikorsky - Helicopter – 1944, 7¢ Training tied by Winnipeg machine cancel on cover paying 7¢ airmail to US. The cover is addressed to Igor Sikorsky, a Russian-American pioneer of aviation. Sikorsky designed and flew the first viable American helicopter, which pioneered the rotor configuration used by most helicopters today. He did the front page of Time Magazine etc. $75.00 SOLD

Item 318-17 – POW Camp C and Camp F – 1941, triple censored cover from Bad Wilsnack Germany to Internment Camp C (Gravenhurst) redirected to Camp F (Fort Henry, Kingston). In Sept 1939, Fort Henry was a receiving station and temporary internment centre until the Camp at Petawawa was ready for occupancy. Fort Henry opened as a camp on June 29, 1940 with the arrival of 600 enemy merchant seamen and German merchants from West Africa. The camp closed on Dec 20, 1943. Gravenhurst and Fort Henry are two very scarce camps. An appealing POW cover. $250.00
