I am pleased to accept my new role as your Post Com- mander for the coming year. I hope to do what I can to maintain and continue the high standards and traditions of those before me. One of my biggest challenges, as well as the VFW, is with the re- cruitment and involvement of our younger generations of veter- ans into the VFW. Our organization, and our Post, is highly de- pendent upon the actions of our membership. If you have any ideas or thoughts, please feel free to let me know. We are starting to transition out of restricting COVID-19 pan- demic guidelines to less stringent guidelines, which is allowing us to begin our Car Cruises on 23 June and to soon start accept- ing and allowing hall rentals again. The current plan is to return to our normal meetings and activi- ties in July, with our next membership meeting on 2 July at 7 PM. For those that cannot attend due to health or other rea- sons, we will set up a Zoom Meeting so those that want to par- ticipate can. There will be a Joint Installation of Post and Auxil- iary Officers in the near future so please watch for details via email. Although the annual VFW Post 345 picnic has been cancelled, we will still be having the raffle drawing. The expectation is currently that the drawing will be held in the Clubroom and members are invited. Refreshments and a limited menu may be provided. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to myself or any of our Post officers. Thank you for your service and we will see you at the Post. In Camaraderie, Jim Schultz
