Atlas 200 AI Accelerator Facilitates Power Line Inspection
Challenges
China has over 1.6M km of high-voltage transmission lines and over 4 million
transmission towers and poles. The stability of power grids is vital to
livelihoods.
For reliable power supply, transmission lines need regular inspections. The
traditional method is risky and consumes a lot of labor and resources.
Solution
The Atlas 200 module is embedded into traditional tower cameras for
unattended, intelligent power grid inspection. Drones and other inspection
methods will soon be supported. Application scenarios will also extend to
power generation, transformation, and distribution phases.
Atlas 200 enables real-time monitoring, analysis, and risk warning at the
front end, improving inspection timeliness, reducing manual workload, and
increasing accuracy.
Atlas 200 has a low-power design. The entire camera consumes 8 W, runs
on solar power, and is maintenance-free throughout its lifecycle.

Challenges
The upcoming metro Line 17 planned for a facial recognition system. The
system would be for crowd control, tracking of passenger identity and behavior,
and criminal investigation. These functions fine-tune public security
management.
The system demands high stability and high precision of the facial recognition
algorithm.
System deployment has many restrictions and requires the devices to be space-
saving and capable of future capacity expansion.
Solution
An intelligent facial analysis system is built on an integrated appliance with the
Atlas 300 AI accelerator card.
The system extracts over 10 million images from city facial feature libraries and
carries out static 1:N comparison, 1:1 personal ID authentication, n:N cross
comparison, dynamic blacklist monitoring, and real-time facial recognition.
Atlas 300 supports real-time analysis of 64 HD channels for a highly integrated
system and over 50% equipment room space savings.

AI Edge Station Enables Accurate Customer Flow Analysis for Smart Shopping Malls
Challenges
Shopping mall companies cannot quantify customer turnover, and therefore
fail to analyze the direct cause of sales fluctuation. They cannot adapt
agilely to customer needs.
Solution
Atlas 500 smart shopping mall solution: Uses AI algorithms to analyze
crowd characteristics such as human bodies, postures, and traffic, and
uses big data analytics to obtain operation status and identify customer
interest.
Quantify and visualize operation data, and clearly display business
operation problems.
Identify VIP customers and recommend products based on customer
interest to improve the sales success rate.
Adjust the rent based on the passenger flow data to ensure shop owners'

AI Edge Station Enables Real-time Intelligent Care
Demo of real-time intelligent care for the elderly
Challenges
In scenarios such as hospitals, nursing homes, and kindergartens, real-
time intelligent care needs to be provided for specific personnel to
promptly tackle unexpected diseases and detect abnormal behavior. Video data collected by multiple cameras needs to be analyzed offline at
the edge to meet the real-time requirements.
Solution Huawei provides the Atlas 500 AI edge station intelligent care solution. It
can be directly deployed on the campus, without requiring a dedicated
equipment room.
The AI edge station is connected to cameras and provides real-time heart
rate monitoring and abnormal behavior monitoring, such as falling, long-
time sitting, and fighting. The AI edge station analyzes video data offline,
and reports alarms immediately when detecting any abnormality.

Information about humans, vehicles, and objects is widely collected and
analyzed intelligently and deeply, enabling functions like data collision, multi-
track integration, and multi-dimensional surveillance. In doing so, case-related
information is extracted to improve multi-dimensional and dynamic control and
prevention capabilities in urban areas.
Traffic lights are adjusted based on traffic conditions, accelerating the traffic
speed by 9% and reducing the congestion time in rush hours by 15%.
